Does such a list exist? I'm planning a couple Camel projects and would like to know which engine (Clerget, Le Rhone or Bentley) was used in each of the airframes I intend to build. I've searched all of the references that I have on the Camel to no avail. I'll gladly purchase yet another Camel book if it does indeed give these airframe/engine matches. I've got some wonderful aftermarket powerplants (Copper State and Small Parts) that I'd like to slap into some Eduard and Blue Max kits.
TIA.
Cheers,
Bud

Hi Bud, I used to have a marvellous book from Air-Britain called The Camel File which listed every Camel built by serial number with a short description and any notable remarks. You may already know of the series, there was also an SE5 File, DH4 File, RNAS Serials etc.
Unfortunately I sold mine when I gave the hobby up and I'd dearly like to have them back now!
AN still sell some titles, may have this or try ebay?

Thanks, Sandy! I'll do a search, see what I can find. If I can locate more than one at a reasonable price (by Scottish standards), I'll let you know.
Cheers,

Bud, thanks for asking this question as I had similar questions. I hope you find your source, then I can pick your brain 8)

......and add me to the list as well. Even Bowyer's "King of Combat" book provides very little.

Yikes, I've just seen the prices asked for this tome on Amazon and abe.
When I bought mine direct from AB it was 12GBP including UK postage. Now I really wish I'd kept it!

Yikes is right! My hopes have been sufficiently dashed. I'll keep looking, though. Might get lucky.

Hi Bud
I've just managed to buy a copy of the Camel File at a great price. If you have some particular subjects in mind, let me know the serial numbers and I will happily let you know what light the Camel "Bible" can throw on them.
