Over on LSP, there is a serious WNW collection for sale. You have to be a member to see it, but this is a serious collection. 5K for all, from Canada.
Just passing it along.

Just out of interest Mike what does LSP mean?
Best wishes

I tried to do the math but gave up. The Roden/Encore/Special Hobby lot works out to about $48 per kit which is pretty meh, considering shipping is on top and will be expensive.
-
A lot of money but then a lot of kits, I wish him luck selling them as two bulk lots.

Ok, I did the math, but I can't guarantee it's correct. (I'm pretty sure it is) The retail cost of all the WnWs kits, not accounting for OOP cost increases, is $4,506. He's asking $5,500. Does $1000 plus shipping equal the added cost of the OOP kits? It doesn't look like much if a bargain to me.

I arrived at the same number, with the same caveat. Like you I didn't attempt to add in the OOP cost, but I think he has all 10 OOP kits, so you are getting each OOP at $100 over retail ... plus what is going to be a huge shipping cost.
EDIT: only 9 OOP kits (no H-B W.29), so the OOP markup is more like $111.11 per kit. Hmmmm.

Well, it is his asking price.

Looks like he corrected the price to $4500 U.S.

Interesting. Did he read our posts?

Could well be a member of this forum. Lurker?

Richard Maher regularly has "lots" ;) for sale (kits, books combos) on Hyperscale, often rare (Classic Airframes, etc) and esoteric stuff. One goggles at the apparent depth of his pockets to have aquired all these goodies in the first place! I would venture that he'll find few buyers willing & able to shell out the scratch he's asking for.
Though, there was that Hyperscale seller, a few years back, who got an astronomical sum (cashier's check, no less), for a carton of Aurora 1/32 B-25's (wonder how the buyer greeted the subsequent 1/32 HK release? :'()

A late response for Nige.
LSP is dedicated to 1/32 and above in all aspects of airplane models. There is a huge amount of space given to other scales, so LSP is a good hangout for modelers like me who have built 1/32 pretty much since.... uh.... the early 70's. And yes, I do remember the dark days, when there was nothing new ever in 1/32. Prolly why I have so much love for old school kits.

Thanks Mike. It shows what a sheltered life I must have led!
Best wishes

Mike,
I remember the first time I saw an ad for the Revell 1/32 Spitfire in Boys Life when I was a kid. Maybe it was 1970, I don't remember. I built a bunch of the Revell kits in that series, loved them all.

Warren, the next time you're at a show, find and original Spitty, or Zero by Revell, and really look at the surface detail. They don't have detail like that now on 1/32 kits! Screw heads, with the slots all clocked at different positions? Yes, from Revell in the late 1960s. The original F4u Corsair still has some of the best shapes, and geometry of any Corsair kit. While this is a bit of "rivet counting", I'm glad we have "stich counters" as well.
-
Hey, in the 30+ years I did living history/reenacting I was known as a "stitch nazi", so you're in good company. :)
I remember getting that Corsair for Christmas in 1971, along with the Raiden. Good times!

You know, the 1974-ish Revell 'o Japan has surface detail the new Hasegawa kit doesn't have. The Stitch counters I was referring to are WWI builder who know lots more than I, and are willing to help so much. Re-enactors are a separate group of stitch counters.

:) Nice, I show it to the wife and she say; it's okay if you want to buy the whole WnW collection!
:( Than she say: you have that amount of money? :-\

Looks like he has split up into smaller groups of kits now:

If I was in Canada or US I'd be tempted to buy the Sopwith collection #1. Seems good value given two of the kits are now OOP.
-
Roger that on the Sopwith Package. . . I scored the Tripehound alone recently for a paltry $130 and thought myself lucky!!
