Martin, my family hasn't lived in GB for almost 400 years but, I am sure they would say Bienvenue!

Have a good time....just be careful of that stuff they call beer.

Cheers from NYC in the New World,

G'day, Martin.

Michelle and I just have just returned from the UK ourselves.  We spent our time in north Wales and Michelle was really upset about having to leave.  If Michelle did move there there she would soon change her mind, though, the first time the temperature dropped below 10°C! ;D

The A55 is a brilliant road and it will get you along the north coast to Caernarfon, in just three or four hours (even if you stick to the 70mph speed limit- which most drivers don't!).  The people are really friendly, the scenery is beautiful and there's plenty of great places to eat (eg Two the Square and  The Olde White House hotel at Conwy or the Black Boy Inn in Caernarfon).

If you have a spare day on your trip to Scotland, you seeing Conwy and Bodnant Garden would be well worth your time- and get you some credit with the missus.

Cheers.

Dal.

Lucky man, Martin!  I wouldn't mind being able to spend a few months in Wales (or anywhere in Europe_- especially if I got a few days in the STAM in Ghent, BAM Ingolstadt, HGM Wien, Duxford, etc.

Cheers.

Dal.

Hi Martin, if you go down the A1 to go south from Edinburgh, you will pass very near the Scottish Museum of Flight, near Haddington. Well worth a detour if you have the time. They have a Concorde and a Vulcan amongst much else. Unfortunately some of the hangers are closed at the moment but the airfield itself is very interesting. It's where the transatlantic airship records were started from.
Pity you don't have time to go up the west coast. The scenery from Skye to Cape Wrath is some of the most beautiful in the world.
Sandy (in Perthshire.)

Second visit to the National Museum of Scotland and third the Royal Botanic Garden.
All need very much time and like the land are very beautiful.
Ian: We drive with the car on this road to the capital city and it is very nice to see the differnce between the landscapes.
Scott: The next museums we will see in London. There are so much diffenent to see.

Ian

Take the A68 but then divert onto the A697 via coldstream, same landscape but the trucks don't use it.

Martin, I hope you and your wife have enjoyed this trip, and will you come back?
