Hello everybody,
on behalf of Sergey I would like to share a few photos of his current project with you.
It is a WNW Fokker E.IV with linen decals by Sláva Vaňous (Old propeller).
I was astonished by the wooden effect on the propeller and asked Sergey how it was achieved. The answer was quite surprising - to oil colour were applied on a green (!) surface.

Thanks for posting these on behalf of Sergey, Ondra! He has done a spectacular job on the interior. I will definitely be using some of his ideas when I build mine. Green Paint!? I love it!

Hello gentlemen,
Amazing painting !!!
Best regards.
Alain.

That seat cover!! Unreal.
Could you ask how that was done?
Just superb all over.
-
Hello everybody,
on behalf of Sergey many thanks for your nice comments.
Here an up-date on the fuselage and wings weathering:

This build will represent Kurt Student's aircraft, one of the dirtiest E.IV's I've ever seen.
to Ade: I will ask Sergey to provide the technique for the seat cover (as far as I know, it is a combination of light base, dark oil paints and drybrush with light oil paints).
Cheers

I'm a little behind the pack here but no less impressed! Beautiful work, the detail is very impressive and the weathered/dirty Fuselage and wing are spectacular.
Cheers,
Lance

Hello gentlemen,
Yeah !! Amazing paint with a very realistic weathering. It smells burnt oil and gazoline. ;)
Best regards.
Alain.
-
Wow...really spectacular. Superb detail painting and weathering.
Would love to hear more about the green paint and specifics of how he did the wood. Very impressive, indeed.
Thanks for sharing your friend's work, Ondra!
Cheers from NYC,
Michael
PS To certain members of the hard core figure painting fraternity, Green Paint is used as an euphemism for Cannabis. Maybe that explains the attention to detail.

Yeah, what Michael said. I agree completely! (Although I suspect Michael's been hitting the green paint lately ;D )

Hah! No way, dude! I'm a health freak! If I need an alternative-reality journey, I just look at your work...or Bo's or Bertl's!! Besides, I haven't exhaled since college.

;) I've never heard the green paint thing. Shows how naive I am!

I thank you gentlemen for your positive relation to my work. Secret of my painting ten grams of marihuana to each model of the plane. paints which I use, with pleasure I can offer you, you will find here: http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/3575-drooling-bulldog-the-very-first-10-shades/. BIG gratitude to my friend Ondra, that he too likes my work...
-
Very impressive, but wouldn't the white field to the fuselage cross be just as dirty?
-
Naturally! But not all at once... the final patina will be made after assembly of the plane... ::)
-
I'm not really a big fan of the Fokker Eindeckers, but this build is just to beautifull to be ignored.
Very impressive Ondra, congrats with this nice build. ;)

wow...

Wow, you're not just weathering the fuselage, you're rendering it, or illustrating it. Very impressive!

Truly remarkable how closely the oil staining and wear match the photo, right down to the wear on the cross. A moment in time recreated to scale.
Cheers,
Bud

Well, I am just the "post-the-photos-guy" in this thread, but I can say I really admire the way Sergey is able to reproduce the real look of the aircraft.
Unfortunately, the perception of colours he has is beyond my mental skills. Nevertheless, his work is really astonishing.
Cheers

Love it, absolutely authentic weathering.
The linen structure of the fuselage looks absolutely convincing in my eyes.
