Title: Modeling tools where you least expect them

So you're out wandering around the store waiting for your wife/husband etc etc and wander into the pet department. Take a look around and see what there is that will help with modeling. I happened to see some small water dishes made of stainless steel and having a rubber foot. First thing that came to mind was a dish for wetting decals. Then a dish for making washes or mixing mud. And a $195 I bought them. Very handy and have some heft so they dont knock over easy. Currently a great parts tray.

Modeling tools, supplies, goodies can be found anywhere. Keep an eye out :)

Yup, those are excellent bowls.  Our cats eat out of a pair every day. :-) 

Another unexpected modeling tool source is the cosmetics department in pharmacies and stores like Target and Wal Mart.  Some of my best tweezers came from Target.  :)
Not to mention sanding sticks, CA glue (KISS brand fast setting nail glue is superb), etc.

Sewing supply and craft stores are also great tool hunting grounds.

Actually wallmart Lance. I'd check the new pet store, they seem better supplied. I want a couple of more. On another site one of the fellows showed escargot bowls he got at the dollar store that he says work great for making washes. Will have to try that too.

Somehow the idea of escargot bowls at a dollar store seems odd to me.

Micheal, not a snob. Seeing as we can only get tinned escargots here dollar dishes isnt such a travesty. :)

Thanks James for showing us your great find. A new shop opened not long ago not far from my place, I picked up 10 cards of super glue, 5 tubes per card for $1.00 per card, 20c a tube is great value and I have used three tubes already and it is as good if not better than the glue I was using. Alos pick up some small plastic storage containers, 6 separate compartments in each container with a snap lock lid, they are clear plastic so contents are visible, also only $1.00 each.
