Wow!  That is a fantastic price!  For years I wanted a copy, but every one I found was about $125 (US) or higher. Recently ran into one just under $75 and snatched it up. There are still a couple of more refs out there on Dr.I's I might pick up, but with this one I consider my Dr.I reference section just about complete.

Great find!

That was me - thanks to Albatros1234 for the alert.  :)

When I checked yesterday there was one on AmazonUK for £45-49 plus some others at much higher prices.

I picked up a copy of this a few years ago at a local bookseller that has a large selection of WWI titles.  Nearly every page has handwritten annotations in great detail, adding or amending dates, serial numbers and other details.  Unfortunately the seller had no provenance for the annotations or who the previous owner was.

Funny how these were all $125+ (US) a few years back, and now all of a sudden they're dropping in price in the last year or so. Not complaining mind you, just curious as what caused this decline in price recently. (I know I benefited from it!)

it happens to all books or oop products. at first they sell at a premium, everyone who can afford it buys them up. then you have a bunch of guys trying to get that premium price, once everyone who feels they can afford this price buys the market crashes. the products sit. so sellers reduce prices. a few bites until that price ranges bottom drops out,so on and so on. its the same as austro hungarian army aircraft of ww1, it was going for upwards of $500 a few years back, then it dropped and dropped and the market kept bottoming out so that now they are retailing for around $200. i know i felt i couldnt jutify $350 asking prices, when one dropped to mid $200 range i bought, theres only so many that want these obscure books and they only have so much disposable income.

I've had basic economics Albatros 1234, so yeah, I understand how supply & demand, price point, etc. works  ;) However, the Fokker book was OOP for a good, long while before I started looking for it, and the prices stayed pretty high for longer than I expected. To me it seemed to have stablized at the higher price for a LONG time, and that's what I assumed to be the bottom out price.
I sure didn't know the FMP A-H Hungarian books were going for such a premium, makes me kind of wish I had sold mine.  ::)  I know I saw volume 1 of Black cross - Red Star got for near $700 a while back.

PS: I bet if and when WNW makes a Fokker Tripe, the price will jump up again.
