I suppose I'd better be polite and introduce myself since I've already made my first post. I'm 52, live in a small town with my wife and son and have been modelling most of my life. I took a few years off in the 1990's to do some serious figure painting (54mm, oils) and then gave that up when I discovered that building and flying RC aircraft was a lot of fun. I never did get rid of the plastic stash and have been back at it for 3 or 4 years now. I build 1/72 exclusively, mostly Golden Age, WW1 and WW2. I love biplanes! Just recently I built my first vac kit so I'm looking forward to a few more of those. Glad to be here where the WW1 crowd is!

Hi Dan, and welcome! I saw your SPAD post but since I'd already commented on Britmodeler I left it at that. Always nice to see another 1:72 scaler!

Welcome to the forum, Dan! Great to have you aboard. Have you been to Old Rhinebeck? Made many a trip there when I lived on that side of the country and did more than my fair share of rock climbing in the Gunks. Beautiful part of the country you live in.
Cheers,

Welcome from snowy and frozen south-central Cain-tuh-Kee Dan! Your SPAD A.2 is wonderful, and I can't wait to see your other builds and look forward to your posts.

Wow, thank you all for the warm welcome! I can see this is going to be a nice place to hang out.
Bud- I have been to Old Rhinebeck, but it was probably 35 years ago. I really should think about heading down there again, I assume it is still operating?

Welcome Dan, from south central PA. I have a daughter who lives in Trumansburg on Lake Cayuga, so I get up that way every couple of months.
Yes, Rhinebeck is still going strong with a new generation in charge. Like you, I had not been there for decades but made the trip in September 2013, and it was fantastic! Has hardly changed at all from 1968!
Take care and enjoy.
