Hello all,
As the title says I'm looking to purchase a set of clear doped linen decals for my WNW Felixstowe build. I'm building a wood finish version with the doped upper fuselage. I've been out of the WW1 modelling scene for some time now and really have no idea what's best! Hoping someone can help?
Cheers

Aviattic would be my advice.

Hi Sean.
I have been using Aviattic's linen decals and have found them to be an outstanding product.
Aviattic has a store on this forum. Check the front page under "The Hobby Shop".
Lots of good info to be found there.
Richard (Bstachel) is the owner of Aviattic and is also a member here which really helps with questions about his products.
regards, :)

Ditto. Since my first use they have been my go to shop.

Richard does a test sheet you can buy with all his linen types on to get a feel before you choose which is best too.
I can reccomend them I'm using some on my current W12 build

Yes. Aviattic linen decals are superb.

I wasn't aware there were any linen decals available besides Richard's/Aviattic.

Thanks Richard, I had no idea, or had just forgotten.

Microsculpt appeared to be in the process of winding down the business the last time I ordered stuff. I have to say the guy was super nice, and even sent me extra sheets when I complained a little bit about lack of response to my web order.
And the Microsculpt product is nice, too-- I am very happy with how it came out -- but this was before Aviattic (or Wood & Wire) entered the game with the lovely textured lozenge decals. And now we have the Aviattic's CDL offerings with even more convincing texture than the Microsculpt decals.

Hi All Sounds like Aviattic wins hands down! Thank you for your advise I've been in touch with Richard and have a test sheet on its way. From there Ill determine which is the best sample to suit my needs, you've all been a great help Cheers

i have some microsculpt sheets and the aviattic is light years better. the linen effect is perfect in scale and looks amazing. the microsculpt is not bad but really think it was designed to tone down garish lozenge decals. it is more see thru and doesnt change the tone. with aviattic you have to choose a color and the under color changes the finished product drastically. unless you get white base that is. get a sampler sheet from richard.
