Thank you for posting the photos Jan.

I have no real expertise on the D.VII to draw upon but I wonder if someone, maybe Bo, could comment on how common it was to see the double undercarriage bracing shown in one of the photos.

good eye Nigel, that is unusual. Maybe a postwar mod? I think this is an OAW built machine, if it is the one Im thinking of its actually a WWI Jasta survivor that the Dutch museum acquired from germany(?) long after their DVIIs were retired and scrapped from the LVA. Ironically the strange and funky "D.VII" in the Munich museum is ex LVA iirc...

There's an airworthy DVII in the Netherlands . this has a tailWHEEL. the photographed example has an original strut, so i reckon it's in it's original configuration. unfortunately the documentation at the display is sparse and the attendants are not very knowledgeable. next time around i'll try and find some more about the plane as displayed
