Title: LVG build by Wojtek
Post by: Des on January 24, 2015, 09:40:40 AM
Many years ago I had the pleasure to follow the build done by Wojtek_fajga of his Wingnuts LVG. I was cruising the net last night and came across some of his build photos which I would like to share with you, it is amazing work.

From memory, all the PE items were made by Wojtek, these first images show the remarkable engine work he carried out. Many modelers asked Wojtek if he would market the PE set, I don't think he ever did.

As usual, click any picture for a larger image.

Wojtek did some great work with his wood graining technique.

Wojtek also made his own PE for improvements to the wing radiator.

Wojtek made his own PE wing rigging mounting btackets, he fixed these to the wing by using heat from a soldering iron to partially melt the PE into the wing.

I remember this build and I think I also asked if he would market the PE. Amazing clean work.

I all so love watching his builds , used his photo`s as a guide for my LVG . I was lucky enough to get some parts and decals from  Mietek  (miecio52) who got the parts from Wojtek. I just didn't have time to do anything on my model for a long time . This might get me back to modeling again .Thanks Des!

To finish off Wojtek made his own instruments.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at these photos.

Yep - amazing detail and skill - unforgettable build. I have some of his brass etch in my stash - not sure I will ever have skill enough to use it but intent to try at some point....

Thanks for posting this, Des.  I remember this well.  It was among my earliest inspirations (along with your Biff build) when I first came back to modeling.  I saved his entire build log and if it's okay, I can add the link.
Cheers,
Bud

remember it very well, was the first ww1 modeller that i was blown away by. i used to have links to this and some other stuff from him on polish forums. one was him taking a mirage 1/48 pzl p11c ,sanding off all the detail then skinning the whole thing with individual brass panels. of course i remember him, the "brass master" also designed and made the photoetch for some karaya kits. as well as a set of brass wing ribs/spars for the eduard dh-2. i wonder what happened to him. last i saw was a build on brittmodeller it was one of those rwd something or others he was giving the treatment to. the woodgrain was homemade decals. some where on an old computer i downloaded the wood patterns thinking i might print them on some decal paper. alas its all gone.

I also can remember me very good on Woitek's LVG built.
Even on his Etched parts for the wings bracing on his LVG.
I wish, I had a set of this wings etched parts, unfortunately, it was not possible for me to contact him.
Probably his old e-mail addresses are no longer existent  :( :(

Thank you Des for the reminder of this very interesting building report.
And thank you Bud, for this link. I had forgotten him.

This what Wojtek did is not possible. I am sure he has own magic place where those things are worked out. There is no other explanation. Maybe his is magician by trade, huh?

Wojtek is certainly a master of brass, his work making brass PE is simply amazing but even more amazing is the way he incorporates the PE into his builds, he definitely must be some type of magician.

The wood effect and the PE engine details are beyond amazing! I could build for a million years and never have those skills.

Hi All

Wojtek has some interesting stuff on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/wojciech.fajga    if you scroll down to 2011 there's an amazing head with cigarette along with other stuff. I think Lukasz at Taurus knows him. That would be a great combination.

Cheers

Andrew

I was very fortunate to get one of the PE sets from Wojtek, and the LVG is my intended next build. I was truly blown away when I saw this on the aerodrome. From the tone of this posts, it does indicate that he is no longer with us. Hope I'm wrong. If he is still alive, I would love to see him join us here

Don't worry, he's alive and well. But I think his interest has moved from modelling to flying sailplanes.

Maybe he got bored. He mastered a skill few will ever achieve. I wouldn't be surprised if he Flys his sail plane non-stop across the world. :)

Hope we see his work again in the not to distant future.
