I started on this kit last week.
After building some 1/32 WW1 kits I decided to give this kit a try specially because there is no 1/32 Roland C.II.

Everything is painted with Vallejo. Wood effects done with oil paint.

Very nice Marco - the wood work is looking good.

Thanks Andrew!
More stuff:
The halves were joined. The fit isn´t perfect but quite easy to do once you get the instrument panel to the right size (it gets in the way). The cover over the gunner´s cabin required adjustment with putty.

The under wing fit had to be worked on. Lots of sanding and putty. The phot shows what looks like a gap in the fit but actually its just a dark line where I covered the gap with CA glue.

There was an ugly sink mark just ahead of the pilot cabin.

This is how it looks at the moment.

Marco,
You're off to an outstanding start my friend. The interior looks great with the beautiful wood work. Looking forward to the next update.

Welcome to the forum, Marco. What a great way to introduce yourself. You've done a great job on the cockpit and the hardest part of the build is now behind you (all that filling and sanding). Should be smooth sailing here on out. This is a lovely kit and a lot of fun to build.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Yes indeed, you've done a very nice job on the cockpit.
Cheers,
Chris

A superb job on the cockpit Marco.
Cheers
Pete.

Very nice, thumbs up.

Thank you, people! :D :D
Glad you liked it so far ;D
Didn´t do much yesterday. Only worked on flaps, aleirons and rudder.
The flaps and wings com in one piece:

Using a small saw and a scriber I managed to move the flaps without taking them off:

One goes up; the other goes down:

Tail pieces were repositioned too:

Beautiful work up to now, I will follow your WIP with attention, I have the same kit box...
Thumbs up!
;)
-
Really nice job so far! I bet it seems really small after a few WNW under your belt. Keep it up. Color scheme will be nice! ;D
Dan
-
It really does look small, Dan.
Specially because my last kit was the Wnw Gotha ;D :o ;D :o
-
Nicely done. Mine is missing instructions. Any chance you could send on a copy?

Steve, you have a mail message

Good work on it so far. I shall watch this one closely. I've been tempted by this model so many times. This thread could help me decide on getting it or not. :)
-
Cimmerian: It´s worth getting. Let´s see hoe all those decals will come along...
Started painting. Here are the preshading pics. This preshading business is something new for me. Been using it for the past three kits.

Very nice preshading, Marco. Should show up beautifully with that light blue-grey scheme.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Should look very nice with that pre-shading Marco.
Cheers
Pete.
-
Thanks Bud and Pete!!
Now for some paint

The sides will be practically covered with fishscales but these decals have transparent parts so I just put enough paint to show through.
-
Great build so far. Im looking forward to the decaling
Steve

I'm late in catching this one, looking very nice. Great pre-shading; the fish scale finish should be spectacular.
Keep those updates coming!
Cheers,
Lance

Very nice, Marco. I've always had a soft spot for this aircraft and you're doing a great job.
