Nice beginning.

Bravo...what a difference the Taurus parts make.
I look forward to following this build.
Cheers from NYC,
Michael
-
Excellent start, Rahmi! That fuel tank looks awesome and the engine is coming along beautifully.
Cheers,
Bud
-
That is a great start! Was it difficult getting the strips lined up so the formers fit in the fuselage correctly? The engine is looking terrific!
RAGIII
-
Hello to all,
A good beginning. I follow this build.
Best regards.
Alain.
-
The fuel tank is superb !
-
Good to see a Roden Albatros being built here, you are off to a great start and what you have achieved so far is looking really good.
Des.
-
Thank you all! @RAGIII, no it was easy. I used half of the fuselage for aling them together and fixed with strene strips.
Here are some progress photos. I will add more details after close the fuselage and fix some errors :)

-
Wow, Rahmi, that looks really lovely! Nice photos as well.
Chris
-
Wow!
What an eye for details! Absolutely terrific work.
I like your attention for details! Great job adding all nuts on the tank surface and the engine upgrades are incredible!
-
Spectacular work on the interior and framing, Rahmi! Up to your usual high standards.
Cheers,
bud

It's looking really great so far Odysseus.

Extraordinary work on the guns and cockpit coaming, Rahmi!
Cheers,
Bud
-
Your cockpit padding looks excellent! The fit of the coaming to fuselage requires work but is not as bad with the forward cowls removed as you have done! Looking forward to more!!!
RAGIII
-
Nice work! The long cocking levers though aren't appropriate for this machine -- they appeared much later. In fact many of the early Albatros D.Is and D.IIs carried MG08s (not LMG08/15s) so be sure to check your references if this kind of thing is important to you.
Cheers!
-
Thank you all!
Thanks for the tip Bo, i will check and fix it.
RAGIII, i will open only left cowling part and working only visible section of the fuselage. I hope it will be easy :)
-
Excellent work! The interior is really well done!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
The cockpit padding is that aluminum foil ? Curious how you did it. Thank you for any information.
-
Thank you Ernie!
Derrick, i used self adhesive aluminum foil for that. Bought from local hardware dealer not model shops, this is cheap one.
-
Super work here! I have built a Roden Albatros, so I know what you are dealing with. Nice!
Chris
-
Very good work.
Martin
-
Thank you Chris, Roden kits realy like a lottery. I have 3 Roden Albatros kits, one of them has warped upper wing, one of warped fuselage.
Thank you Martin!
Painted the fuselage before painting plywood effect with oil paints. Tamiya XF-59+%10 white

You have done exceptional work on the engine and the cockpit interior. The wood effect you have applied looks extremely good, this is shaping up to be a real gem.
Des.
-
Thank you Des!
-
This is looking really nice Rahmi.
Warren
-
Hello!!!
I'm enjoying this!!! That plywood looks terrific!!!
Lukas
-
Beautiful plywood! Nice color choice.
George
-
Hello gentlemen,
I just read here:
http://www.craftlab.at/index.php?id=8&L=1
that wood fiber were always longitudinally to support flying effort.
Good painting.
Best regards.
Alain.
-
Your plywood work, especially the colors is outstanding! As for the direction of the ply I tend to agree that it runs one direction. That being said the panels done the other way add interest and could be considered artistic license. I Love what you are doing with this kit. Makes me want to take a look at my Encore DII or Roden OAW DIII!
RAGIII
-
Thanks a lot!
RAGIII and Alain, i thank you too for point at direction of fibers. Oil paints curing time nearly 3 weeks. I fixed them before too late ;)

Martin

Thank you Bud! Thank you Martin :)
-
Good start on the woodworking, Rahmi. :D I've been putting off
thoughts of making a woodsheathed model and I will be following
your build closely to see how it is done. Thanks for sharing your
work!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
Sorry for the late comment. Your correction of the grain direction turned out awesome! Lovely work all around!
RAGIII
-
Thank you! :)
I added some PE parts and rib tape details on the wings.

Very beautiful update.
Martin
-
I really like the way this is looking. Tell us more how you did this paint... it's very well done.
-
Simply gorgeous, Rahmi! As on all your Albatros, your wood tones are beautiful.
Cheers,
Bud
-
I have to comment again on how great your wood looks to my eyes! The paintwork on the wings is equally well done! You are making terrific progress and should be on the home stretch soon!
RAGIII
-
A splendid job with the wood and wing painting.
Des.
-
Thank you all! :)
@zavod44; I always use freehand airbrushing for painting and weathering. Base color -> base color + %10 white for light tones -> base color +%5 black for dark tones -> very thinned base color for filtering.
-
Decals on!
