Michael,
Sounds interesting indeed. Not having BBC4 available here I would greatly appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the program with your Colonial cousins.

I have just watched this and have immediately started the recorder to watch it again
People who have studied WW1 for years in depth will maybe find things to criticise (though in the wider context I would argue unfairly so). However that notwithstanding as a piece of film-making and explanation for the general viewr of the nature of the 14-18 conflict as it impacted on the participants I will unhesitatingly assert that this is the best I have ever seen bar none.
..........well, I do have one criticism, taking a flight in a Biff the film maker made out going up in such a flimsy plane was fraught with danger - it looked a damned good and eminently safe plane to me!

Nigel,
Anything said about DVD's of the broadcast be available?

I guess I`ve seen it already. Don`t know if it`s the same thing we`re talking about here. There were some shots from am airship just after the war... Pretty good!

as someone not knowing a lot about the history of ww1 i found the documentary facinating and well worh a watch.
