This is my WNW DH 2, completed 2013. Maybe some of you already know these pics from another forum.(I couldn´t stand posting them again via photobucket - yes, finally I managed the use of it...)

Magnificent! I am presently building this one, and your photos have given me several points to add already, along with verifying a rigging detail for me. Your finish is amazing, and I'll be checking back to this often. Thanks for sharing this, and my compliments on a very beautiful model.

Is it a detailed kit version or a Taurus resin engine? It is particularly well represented in detail and through your depiction of heat and oil effects.

And, I would like to know more about the figure you included in the display. What is it and where might it be available?

I think your wing treatment is very well done and gives the impression of being translucent with the roundel showing through. I will have to attempt this.

It's the WNW engine (at that time the Taurus Gnome was not on the market), I replaced the pushrods with steelwire and added some ignitionwire, airbrushed with Alclad (steel, hot violet). The RFC pilot is from kellerkind-miniaturen.com (Martin Hille, Berlin/Germany, about 15€).

The effect on the bottom wing from below is very, very impressive, but it's the top of the bottom wing that drew my attention. The way you have very, very subtlety shaded inside the rib areas to give the impression of light is extremely good, whilst also maintaining a weathered finish.

Really is the best DH.2 I've seen - and I've seen a lot! Wonderfully well put together and painted and weathered to give a very realistic finish. I will certainly refer back to your pictures when I try to paint my DH.2. If I can get that impression of light through a canvas wing that you've managed, of an aeroplane that has been flown & stored outdoors, I'll be happy.
