This is the last WW1 plane I finished so far.
I hope I will be able to built 1 or 2 next year, but there is some WW.2 stuff on the workbench which as prority.
The Roden Fokker D. VII is a real pain to build. Especially the fit of the lower wing is very poor.
I was not happy with Rodens decal Options so I decided to use Decals from Life Like. I found the Jasta 16b option very intriguing with ist blue and white ckecker and the blue nose.
For the Lozenge I used Eagle Strike decals.
When I did this Fokker, I wasn't aware that there where no rib tapes on the rudders. Something I have learned meanwhile and it will not happen again ;)
I added the munition belts, the telescope and stitching to fuselage underside. I also respositioned the ailerons and the elevator.
Weahtering was done with the airbrush and Tamiya weathering set.

Superb -
One of the best Roden 72nd scale DVII models I've seen - well done!
Regards
Dave

Very nice work, Wolf and all in a scale that quite defeats my clumsy fingers and aging eyes.
Best wishes

Extremely well done Wolf, the scheme you used is very attractive and you have applied it beautifully, hard to believe that this excellent model is 1:72 scale, well done.

Gorgeous model, Wolf. Really a first rate job and I hope to
see more WWI aeroplanes in future. It is quite boggling to
see what can be done in the teeny scale. Well done!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

What a little gem. I admire it evn more having passed once through the serious problems with this kit. Your final result is spectacular, to say the least! Congratulations.
-
Very nice indeed, glad you found a way around the wing fit issues!

Thank you all for the very kind comments.
I think I made a mistake regarding the description. This is not a late Alb. built but a early Fokker built. I messed it up with another Fokker D VII I started to build but did not finished yet.

superb modelling and you achieved great result. I'm working on a Roden's DVII OAW early version and absolutely feel your pain!

What a wonderful model in very colourful markings which have been extremely well applied. In God's Own Scale this is just a magnificent build. Many congratulations.

Wolf, that's a beautiful build, and with a kit that AFAIK wrestled with you the whole way. I've got a project in mind where I will have to "batch build" six of these. I'm trying to screw my courage up to tackle them maybe this next year.
Seeing your build gives me hope and courage. :)

Wolf,
is this the Fokker you had on display at Wilnsdorf two, maybe three years ago?

yes

She's truly magnificent, Chris, and could easily pass for a brilliantly built WNW D.VII!
Cheers,

Hard to believe it's 1/72; very nicely done.
