Title: Wingnut Wing's LVG "12"
Post by: Pierre Giustiniani on November 29, 2014, 07:42:37 AM
Hi Gents,
This is my second kit of the great Wingnut Wings company. A real pleasure to work on her. It's a pity that WNW does not reissue this (large) kit, i would have made another one with a lot of pleasure...
Interior is made with home made decals.
Fuselage is painted with acrylics, then oil.
Decals are from Aviattic, and i must say that the rendition is much more better than the WNW's ones.
Figures are from Kellerkind.
Hope you'll like her.
Best regards
Pierre

Hi Pierre this is a beautiful representation of the LVG!  I made one with much less experience and wish I had done more with the lozenge.

I agree with you, if only there were more of these around.  I really like the wood fuselage on this model.

I'll definitely be looking out for your other builds!

No problems at all Pierre, we all make little "oops" sometimes.

Your LVG is one of the nicest ones I have ever seen, the fuselage wood tones are amazing and the overall finish is exceptional, the addition of the beautifully painted figures are a splendid touch, congratulations and well done.

Des.

Des, can you put a block on people turning up and posting superb pictures of their modelling skills.

What we need is a few more ham fisted baboons.

A lovely piece of work, Pierre. I wish I'd bought a WNW LVG when I had the opportunity.

Best wishes

 And another +10.

Absolutely stunning, especially the wood finish which is something I simply cannot begin to master. Very many congratulations.

PS - don't worry I can provide a ready supply of the ham-fsted baboon builds.

I suppose those guys who missed the LVG kit before it got sold out now will hate you. Well, I missed this kit too, but it was never on my list, so I do not hate you. I will just say, I like your model very much. The wood and fabric are top class. Thanks for sharing!

A really great build in terms of the a/c and the figures. I'd love to know how you made those decals for the interior.

Hi Warren
It was an experiment for me. First of all, I had to find plywood representation. It was done here:
http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41043
After it's the same process than for usual decals, ie print the plywood on a laser paper sheet and apply liquid decal film solution from microscale.
To be honest it's worth if you have large/numerous surfaces to cover. Otherwise it's costless (in time and money) to buy a sheet from Uschi.
Cheers
Pierre
