Just wondering if anyone has received email notification of thier WNW W.12 being shipped?
I placed my order back on the 17th and haven't heard back about it being in the mail yet. They have emailed to confirm reciept of the order though.
-
Received my kit today, ordered it last week so delivery was quite fast, but then it is not far from NZ to Australia.

Chuck,
I ordered a W.12 along with another kit on the 18th. I've had confirmation of receipt of order but so far none regarding shipping. From past experience the gap between the two confirmations seems to vary & is nothing to be concerned about.

Okay then.... Share your thoughts Des....Purleeeeeze :P
WNW's notifications can be a little random at times though.

Thanks everyone for the info. I look forward to getting my shipped email and to hearing Des' report on the kit!

Hi:
I ordered mine last Monday, November 17th and I received the shipping email Friday, November 21st and according to the United States Postal Service it is in Customs. Hopefully it won't sit there too long and I'll have it by this Friday. From New Zealand to Melbourne, FL USA in two weeks; pretty fast!!!
Thanx,
Carl

mine ordered on the release-day 17 november; shipped the 21st

I haven't had a good chance to examine the kit yet but a quick look revealed a very full box full of highly detailed parts, it looks really impressive.
When I opened the shipping box and removed the kit box, I noticed the kit box was covered in dust, just like the kit had been sitting on a shelf in the warehouse for a month or two, makes me wonder if Wingnuts have been sitting on this kit for some time deciding to release it as a Christmas release.

Des, this dust is from the transport-container from China. :P

I didn't realise that there was so much dust in a locked and sealed sea container out in the middle of the ocean :) :) :o

Mine seems to have a broken tracking number... :(

Don't put too much trust in the tracking system, my kit was in my hot little hands but the tracking was saying it just arrived in the country.

A couple of months or so back I ordered a "Fee' and never heard a peep until it arrived. No notice of shipping, Tracking info, nothing! As Keith says, a little "random". Just as I was about to contact WNW the package arrived (about three calendar weeks total to Western Canada) First time in over a dozen orders that's happened.
Cheers,
Lance

I think Wingnuts may have changed their shipping policy from the good old days when orders seemed to be despatched within a day or so of purchase.
Now, they seem to ship on one day a week, around Friday. Previous posts here show people who ordered the new W12 kit on Monday the 17th got a shipping notice on Friday 21st. I ordered a kit ( Fe2b Late) on the 18th, got an auto-generated purchase confirmation email immediately but a full week later I'm still waiting on a shipping notice.
The actual shipping times are outside their control, but ( this is just a guess) I wonder if the free postage deal with NZ Post means they only get a parcel pickup one day a week?
I have total confidence Wingnuts will despatch the order soon, so this is not a gripe, just an observation that maybe they have changed to fewer parcel pickup days a week which in turn makes it look like delays in order processing?

No complaints on my end either. Just wondering, thats all.
-
Just in, an email from wingnuts saying my order has shipped!
;)
-
Interestingly, I also just received a shipping notice for my order of the 18th, which means my theory of only one shipping day a week is wrong. Well I did say it was a guess! :)

And I'm the third...
anyway, I'm happy with their service.
I think that they are also busy with the Felixstowe

David Wilson wrote to me today and said that his kit, which he ordered on the 18th November has still not arrived, it is now the 3rd December. He said his track and trace is indicating that it has left NZ, but it has been saying that for days now.

One question to those living Down Under. How long does it take to see the tracking data? I got the dispatch message from WNW on 1st of Dec. However even now the consignment number is not recognizable in the NZ Post system. :(
-
Picked mine up from the post office day before yesterday. Unfortunatly for me I won't be opening the box until Christmas time (it's a present for yours truly). Good things come to those who wait!

The more I read and hear about the shipping issues I am now positive that the problems are not the fault of Wingnuts but solely NZ post, and their trace and track system needs a complete overhaul, it is as good as useless. But to be fair to NZ post, Aussie post is just as bad and just as slow, in this day and age of modern technology services should be getting better but they seem to be getting a lot worse.

Just to endorse Des' remarks.... my WnW Fe2b Late kit arrived on the doorstep this morning and it's clear that Wingnuts perfectly addressed the package so the queries over its movement status have nothing to do with Wingnut Wings. NZ Post's track and trace system seems a bit hit or miss or free post packages are the last to be loaded on flights or be scanned? It took ages for it to cross the Tasman then days more in limbo before being scanned again. As of this minute the track & trace shows it only arriving at the mail depot so the postal tracking system is seriously lagging.
What's important is Wingnuts despatched the kit beautifully packed and addressed as always and the model is another breathtaking example of WnW's technology.

So... WNW advised mine as shipped on the 18th.
Nothing heard of again after frequent checks until till it suddenly appeared as collected from customer by the delivery agent on the 28th and sent for export in the 1st.
Does that mean it sat at WNW for 10 days? If so I'm not overly happy about it but not a lot one can do.
I had just been lambasting Parcelforce for not being able to show shipping details from abroad assuming the recent privatisation of Royal Mail had reduced services. Doh! ;D

It happened to me too.....

Must be NZ.
I ordered mine on Nov 16, received order confirmation on Nov 17, and shipment confirmation on Nov 20. It arrived on my doorstep one day last week (Nov 24-26) . . . not sure which day exactly as my wife confiscated it for a Christmas present!
I live on east coast USA.

Mine arrived today in Chesterfield, MO (St. Louis suburb)
-
Ordered on Nov 17th. Ship notice Nov 26th. Arrived Dec 1st. No delay in going through US customs. I'm sure they have an initial rush of orders when a new kit is available so takes a while to get them all out the door.
-
as long as it gets there eventually right.......
-
ordered mine on a Tuesday, confirmed shipped that Friday, and here in
sunny rainy So.Cal the following Friday.

Hi:
I received mine in West Melbourne, FL, USA in only three days! It sat in US Customs for only 17 minutes; usually its a day or two. Looks really nice and I cannot wait to build it. Of course, I keep getting distracted by shiny objects and there are a bunch of started kits before it. Oh, what the heck, what is another?
Thanx,
Carl
