What rules do you use Squiffy?

Hi, James. I use Blazing Skies. It's a free download and also happens to be written by a friend of mine. http://atkinswargames.wix.com/atkinswargames#!blazing-skies
It was intended for mainly WW2 but I'm helping him to alter things to more suit a dedicated WW1 game.

Haven't looked at Blazing skies yet but Port and Cigars makes for an entertaining read.

I thought I'd post some photos of my newly-built stands for gaming use.
The S.E.3a (Stand Experimental).

The stands (S.E.2 and 2a) shown in my opening post had their limitations. For one, the attitude of the aeroplane was fixed as straight and level and one had to ask one's opponent what the attitude of his kite was. There was no place to show the kite's altitude and speed so, once again, one had to ask...
The new version features an altimeter, throttle setting and air speed. It is also variable in height between 110 and 480mm so the relative heights of the kites can be seen without need to ask. A ball-joint at the top allows the kite to be positioned in the climb/dive and/or left or right bank.
The hexgons are made from plasticard and are filled with 250g of lead for stability.
