In I dont know if there is a similar phrase in english, but in Germany we describe something (i. e a plane) that is common, unspectacular, unglamorous or just boring wiht the words "Brot und Butter Flugzeug" (bread and butter plane).
I love colorfull glamorous fighter planes but I have also a special faible for these Brot und Butter Flugzeuge.
To my opinion one of theses planes is the Hansa Brandenburg B. I.
The Leagto kit is a typical short run model and needs some rework. But it has also a very nice PE board which helps to enhance it.
I built the Hansa out of the box and only added monofilament for the rigging and a thin brass tube from engine to cooler.
Paintjob was done with Gunze acrylic and Gunze Metalizer. Woodgrain with oil colors.

Beautiful work Wolf! I, too, have an affection from the "Brot und Butter Flugzuege," and the simple early finishes of natural wood and CDL. You have achieved a very realistic model of both. ;D The wood looks just right and the CDL as well. Outstanding modeling of a very interesting aeroplane! Thanks for sharing this one. :D
Cheers,
Bob

Very nice finish Wolf. I haven't bought or built any 1/72 kits for quite some time but I still have a soft spot for the One True Scale and yours is very cute ;)

Beautifully done Wolfgang, the CDL and the wood is spectacular and you have done a brilliant job with the rigging, how you guys can produce such show pieces in 1:72 scale is beyond me, I tip my hat to you.

Spectacular, Wolf. You are right, there is something special to those plain aircraft. Simple, wood-linen and bare metal finish are soooo appealing. Your Brandy is just beautiful.

I agree; I too like "bread and butter" subjects. But this is far from "bread and butter" work you've done--more like "cake and icing!" Beautiful!

What a super piece of work Wolf! If this is 'bread and butter', I could certainly feast upon it.
Best wishes

Really nice - I have a soft spot for AH aircraft.
Let's hope that WNW eventually get around to doing a Hansa-Brandenburg C.1, Phoenix C.1, Aviatik-Berg D.1 and Albatros D.III OEF.
Must do the Copper State 1/48 Lohner B.II that I've had for years too!

That is an example of outstanding modelling. In English we might say everyday or run of the mill - that is anything but…. Terrific finish and super rigging - just plain excellent all round.

Fantastic build, well executed all round!
