When I started WW. 1 modelling, one of the first things I noticed, was the fact, that there are only a few injection molded two seaters in 1/72 available.
So I decided to build my first vac formed model ever. Although it was a lot of work and the details and structure is far away from modern IM Kits, it was a lot of fun. Maybe it was this fun because it was a lot of work. And I must admit that I was more proud when the Rumpler was finished as if I had built a "normal" kit.
I think, the jostick vacu is a good choice. The styrene was of a good quality, it had white metal parts and decals.
On the other hand and I think typical for vac formed kits, nearly all details and struts hab to be done from scratch.
I used my spare box for the details and all struts and the undercarriage where done from brass rods and stripes

The Rumpler was painted with Gunze Aqueous.

What a superb model, Wolf! The Rumpler is a favourite of mine and
yours is an absolutely sublime effort, especially as a Vacuform. Well done!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Exceptional work for a vac kit, and being 1:72 scale makes it even more amazing, well done Wolfgang.

That is just amazing. Makes the WNW look like a Lindberg (ha, ha).
Really nice job. I love the colors and the rigging. A tutorial is in order. My connection points are always full of glossy glue :'(
Excellent,

Wolfgang,
Absolutely stunning, especially so for such a small scale. The rigging is most impressive, the painting and detail very well executed, and the fact that it's a vac Kit makes it even more impressive.
Very nice work!

Lance

Yes, Wolf, although this is one of your "older" works, it is one of the most admirable you built. I hope that you will switch back from your WW2 topics, towards the "old age".
Btw, your Fokker DVII is marvelous, too.

Stefan

Thank you all for the very kind comments. :)
@Stefan: I am currently working on the speed record breaker He 100 V-8 ans Me 209 V-1, but the next model will be a WW. 1 plane again. Not sure which one but I think a Fliegertruppen 2-seater

Superb work, Wolggang.
Best wishes

What an AMAZING build for multiple reasons. The construction, rigging, paintwork, and detailing could all match anything done in a Much Larger scale, and it is a Vac Form Kit ;D

That's one of the very best 1/72 WWI aircraft builds I have ever seen. Colours look spot on to me. Well done Wolf!

Very late to the party, but I also wish to express my awe. This model looks like its much larger and younger brother from WNW. Fantastic modelling, Wolf!

Beautiful work Wolf! I've never had the opportunity to build a vac yet, and those of y'all that do just astound me.
