After my first attempts in 2004 and some WW. 2 planes, I built two other WW. 1 planes in 2005
The first one was this Fokker E. IV and the other one was a Rumpler C. IV (my first Vacu ever)
The Fokker is a realy nice little kit, but a little fiddly. With its PE parts, you get a realy nice detailed plane.
This was the first time for my, that I did some weathering on a WW. 1
For the linen, I used Gunze Sail Color. The metallic parts were done with Gunze polishing metalizer. I did some tests on how to replicate this burnished effect on the engine hood. I achieved the best results with a base of airbrushed Gunze Metalizer (Iron) and painted then dozens of little Gunze metalizer (Aluminium) worms with a brush on this surface. After this, I polished the surface which blended both colors a little bit and gave them a shiny appearance.
Weathering was done with pastel chalks and oil Colors, rigging with invisible thread.
Please excuse the pictures. They are somewhat old.

Old pictures or new, they still show a very fine model. The finish is very good particularly for a first attempt (I gave up weathering a long time ago after some disasters). An interesting variant of the Fokker monoplane. Looks as though it is a much better kit than the old Revell offering with which I am familiar.

A very attractive little model Wolfgang, the weathering is well done and the rigging is excellent, good photography also.

More OUTSTANDING work from your bench! The weathering looks just right to my eyes!

Beautiful little Eindecker! The engine, prop and "metal" parts really catch the eye, and the weathering looks just right. Love it!
