Title: From the middle of France.
Post by: KitRookie37 on September 09, 2014, 03:01:20 PM
Hello everybody,
I come from Tours (the castles land). I apologize for my english, I promise to train.  ;)
I founded this forum searching informations about Junker J1 so I decided to register because of the quality and the accurate of the work here.
I hope to share with the members.  :D
Just a few view of my work (I'm fond of WNW):

Hello Alain and welcome to this wonderful forum. I too live in the middle of France - just south-west of Limoges.

I like your selection of photos, especially that of the Camel.

Best wishes
Nigel

Hi Alain,
 Excellent introduction to the forum.
The Pfalz DXII is a beauty - do you have any more pictures of her?

Welcome!

Von Buckle  ;)

Very nicely done Models, Alain. The silver finish on your Nieuport is very well done, what paint did you use and can you explain the weathering and worn effect you achieved? Welcome to the Forum, I know you'll enjoy it here.
Cheers,
Lance

Good evening to all,
Thanks a lot for your kindness. I'll become red (blushing ?) :)
So, I'll try to answer. There's a french plane by WNW, the Salmson A2. This is not a Camel but a Pup. The Nieuport 17 is the Hobbycraft one. I painted metallic part with Alclad and the cloth (?) with Tamiya aluminium. For the weathering, black wash on alclad and...oil paint out of the tube wiped with a smooth cloth. I use Tamyia smoke and masks very often, differents inks (especially on decals).
The Pfalz is my prefered too. In fact, I painted one of the planes of Hugues in his movie Hell'Angels. Look:

Today, in the Smithonian museum:

So, more pictures.  ;D

Oops, of course it's a Pup not a Camel. I'm hopelessly preoccupied at the moment  finishing off a couple of 1/48 Eduard things - one of which is a Camel and  it seems like a fight to the death: it's the Camel or me!

Best wishes
Nigel

Welcome aboard! We're almost neighbours, I live in La Rochelle. We might meet in a model show one of these days, I'd love to see your models. Great work on the metal parts of the Nieuport.

Welcome to the forum, Alain!  Marvelous collection you have there and they are clearly not the work of a rookie.
Cheers,
