Title: A pair of 1/48 DR Is
Post by: nmroberto on September 07, 2014, 05:55:12 AM
Thanks to Bud (Coyotemagic) for the decals for Joseph Jacob's bird. (the black one)  The other was flown by Hermann Frommherz.

First try at Fokker streaking, but after reading all the helpful hints here, it didn't work out too bad.  For some reason the streaking looks a lot more green in the pics than in real life.

That is a truly superb trio of Fokkers, beautifully finished. "Not too bad" is a typical understatement for what is a difficult finish in any scale: you have pulled off a very good representation and certainly I would have been over the moon if I had done that.

A beautiful pair of Fokkers both finished off extremely well, congratulations on a job well done.

Cameras can play a lot of tricks with colours, I have the same issues with my photos.

Fantastic job on both, Robert!  Of course, I'm partial to Jakob's kite, but that streaking job of yours is absolutely brilliant.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks again for the help.  I'll tell you one thing, working with glossy black paint is a bitch.  Shows every tiny flaw in the surface.

Lovely couple of Fokkers!  I think the streaking came off quite well, and they look great in those schemes.

Bravo! The hard work you've obviously put into these has certainly paid off.

Best wishes

A very nicely done brace of Fokkers! I wish my first attempt at streaking had come out as well!

You`ve got a really nice pair of Dreideckers! I like Jacobs`s plane especially - my favourite scheme for this bird.
The problem with colours in your pics is due to the lighting and white balance. If you don`t use the daylight you should change white balance in your camera to the lighting you`re using. It should improve the quality of your pics.

Well done. I particularly like the markings on the struts of the Frommherz machine.
