Hello,
This is my first post to this forum, besides a brief self-introduction I've posted to the Introductions page. I've been modeling for over a decade now in my 'adult modeling phase' and have always been keen on Great War subjects, but after some early disasters I was scared off. I'm now trying again, and this is my first attempt. It's the 1/72 Revell re-issue of their 1965 molding of the Fokker Eindecker, done in the scheme of the then-fledgling Ernst Udet. Paints are Mr Color and Alclad, rigging is 32 gauge steel wire.
Thanks for looking; criticisms and suggestions are welcome!
Stuart

Truly stunning work, Stuart! Looks like you've been doing this for years. Outstanding introduction.

For your first WW1 aircraft model Stuart you show no signs of being a novice builder, the Eindecker is a superb model with a brilliant overall finish, the rigging is excellent for such a small model.

Nicely done. Especially in 1:72. You will love Wingnut Wings Eindeckers.
-
That's a lovely build in any scale but even more so in 1:72.
Very well done.

Welcome to this fine forum. You have built a fantastic model, especially taking into account the raw material you have used.
I would only ask for larger photos.

Very nice indeed, Stuart. You've shown just what can be achieved with an uncut gem from the 60s.
Best wishes

Excellent results Stuart, with such as small model. The Revell kit is (relatively) cheap and cheerful but as you have shown here, can build into a great model :)

I particularly liked your prop laminations and the sworls on the cowling. Nice job Stuart!
Here is a period advertisement to celebrate your build (click on image to enlarge)

Stuart,
As others have said quite an introduction! Like Jamo and Des I am impressed by your Swirls, the prop, and the rigging!

How you accomplished that lamination effect on your propeller is beyond me but it's superb. Very nicely done.
Cheers,
Chris

Didn't realise it was 1/72 'till I scrolled down and saw the last shot with the pencil. Pretty darn good model you have there.
-
Nicely done ! look forward to seeing more from you.

As with others I am bowled over by the prop and the swirls on the cowling. If that was a first attempt, what will later attempts look like? I am not sire how you could improve on that.
-
Welcome aboard Stuart. That's a great first post. For heavens sake don't join the Fokker DVII group build will you mate? The competition is stiff enough as it is. :) ;)

That's absolutely incredibly nice work Stuart. You've arrived with a lot of talent, can't imagine a couple of Builds "down the road"! Beautiful Model!
Cheers,
Lance

Stuart,
I would never believe had you not said, that this was your first WW1 model aircraft - amazing workmanship on your Eindecker!

Hello Stuart and welcome to the forum:
Excellent job on this little kit, or that is one big pencil! The swirls and the prop stand out nicely. The shading and rigging all top notch. Looking forward to seeing more of your work here on the forum.
Best

That's a great looking EIII, Stuart! Boy, even though I knew it was 1/72 scale, seeing it next to the pencil was hard to get my head around!
Welcome to the forums.
