Title: Hello from Paris !
Post by: joanblaue on August 08, 2014, 07:01:11 PM
Hi all,
I am new here.
I can't remenber when I saw for the first time an aeroplane but it was probably at la Ferté Allais in the 70's...
At this time there was no real airshow...I remenber clearly Aviatik  ( tiger moth replica ), deperdussin monocoque ( sold to US )and bleriot XI ( anzani potez engined ) and a splendid Caudron G3 ( sold to the Peru IIRC ), a Leopoldof...
A tv serie "les faucheurs de marguerites" ( from Lillienthal to Bleriot ) was on shooting at "la Ferté" followed by "le temps des as" ( WW1 and Aeropostale ). Jean Salis made an amazing work following his father Jean-Baptiste ( who were the official seller for Bucker Jungmeister in France just before WWII ).
I am a modeler with no time ( too much work ) so I can only spend few hours a month to build models. My wish is to understanding the subject and I am very interrested about technical stuffs. My lacks are squadron history or pilot stories...
I have a silver print collection about aviation started when I was 8. I have some WWI photos in my albums. I will post somes asap.

cheers
olivier

Hello Olivier and welcome to this wonderful forum. I too live in France, but in France profonde, near Limoges.

Many of us have found ourselves in your position, with work demanding too many hours, leaving too few for modelling, but I hope you will find a good balance.

I look forward to seeing the photos you mention.

Best wishes
Nigel

Well ! many many thanks for your  kind words.
I never found so many welcome in a forum !  :)

I have discover among some posts in this forum so many talents... There is here an amazing collection of skillness !
I think this ww1 and pre war era are the most difficult modelling period to do.
You have to manage so many techniques and skills...and I have so many things to learn.

well, this is not the subject here but this is what I love to do. It a Bucker 1131 full scratch in 1/32 ( still in process ) :

Welcome to the forum, Olivier! Looks like you're one of those modelers who will not accept "there's no kit available" for an answer. I'm always amazed to see models built from the inside out, genius level stuff...

Hallo Olivier,
first of all welcome! and send my personal greetings to your town, I always say that Bari is my wife but Paris is my mistress!!!
We come there at least once per year...
Your work on the Bucker looks fantastic, and I am a very slow modeller as well, but like very much to learn on the pages of this great forum where you will find dozens of real MASTERS!

A bientot mon ami!
