Very off topic. Well sorta. I need to make a new prop for the old Airfix 1:24 FW190A/F kit. Though the kit has several well known issues I will build one! So far I have scaled up the prop blades from the excellant Hasegawa 32nd kit 133.33%. My first question is what woods work best? Or should I bite the bullet and hire someone in the group?
Thanks for looking!

Hi,
I have no experience with wood, but maybe you could make some use of my method.
I make wooden propellers of plastic sandwich of white and black sheets glued together with Tamiya Extra Thin.
After sanding the final shape of the prop I use oil paints to create the wood grain.
Not sure if this will be suitable for such a big scale, however. The propeller on the pics is in 1:144.
Cheers
