An old book - 1946 - but a great, concise introduction to all the major WWI types. Each entry has a photo, stats, a potted history, and 1/72 plans, some - like the Gotha G.II - having fold-out plans. The less well used types are included but minus the plans.
Should be able to pick it up on EBay for £10-£20 if you are patient.

I agree. I picked up my copy several years ago when I first became interested in WWI aircraft. It serves me well, especially when reading other books as I can cross-reference with it to keep straight in my mind the various aircraft being referred to.

i got an old copy for $5 at my local hobby theres also the fighter aircraft of the 1914-1918 war which doesnt have the big guys but alot more fighters and 2 seaters. same format .
