Title: Fascinating Podcasts
Post by: LindsayT on July 01, 2014, 11:58:22 AM
The CBC, the Canadian equivalent of the BBC, the ABC, and uh, PBS(?), has released a series of radio productions that are also available as podcasts. The Bugle and the Passing Bell is a 10 part series taken from a 17 hour series produced 50 years ago and only played once. It features first hand accounts, history, poetry, and music of the time. Think the Imperial War Museum's Voices of the First World War but with a lot more "eh's" in the interviews.

The second series, also courtesy of the Ceebs, is a regular show called Ideas, which is running a series commemorating the centenary, and is always worth a listen regardless of the topic. The series is dealing with topics such as the roots of public relations, madness in a prolonged war, and a great interview with Margaret MacMillan, the author of Paris 1919.

A fascinating listen while at the bench. Enjoy.
