Title: Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter Float Plane
Post by: Alexis on June 21, 2014, 09:32:23 AM
Another build from many moons ago and one which folks seem too like . After getting the two datafiles and reading through them there is a picture of a single seat Strutter on floats and instantly fell in love with its appearance . Like it was meet to be on floats !

Thanks, T!  I love this one!  I'm still entertaining the notion of giving this one a try.  I certainly have enough Strutter kits in the stash.  You did an amazing job on this one, sis!
Cheers,
Bud

A very nice build of a nice looking aeroplane Terri, now all we need is for someone to produce one in 1:32 scale.

Des.

Really beautiful job, Terri.  As you mentioned, the Strutter
looks right at home on the floats.  Well done!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Very different subject Terri, and very nicely done. I haven't seen this done before and you've done it justice!
Cheers,
Lance

I did not know that the 1 1/2 Strutter was mounted on floats! Wonderful job and a most interesting subject. What is the scale?

Thanks Guy's !  ;D

Des , this would make an interesting subject in 32 scale . Why not scratch one ? The float configuration is the same on the HD-2 float plane .

Lone Modeller , this is 1/48 scale based on Rodens Strutter kit . The rear cockpit was flared over and I scratch a new tail plane . Kit one is way to think . With the floats being the same as on the HD-2 the floats made this an easy conversion . Total length of the floats do need to have 2mm added .

Beautiful build Terri!  I didn't know the Strutter had a float version.  Very nice. ;D

Hello Terri:

I remember this one as well.  It is a neat looking model and you did a great job on it.  It would be neat if there were a 1/32nd scale version of it.
Thanks for posting it here.

Best

Mark

Thanks Mark , that's two who would like to see this in 32 scale . I'm surprised that WNW or even Roden haven't done a Strutter yet .
