Title: Eduads Albatros D.Va
Post by: Alexis on June 18, 2014, 12:50:33 PM
Another built last year for an online contest , which I ended up taking second place . Built out of the box except for the landing gear and wheels are Pheon's .

Very nice Terri. I have this Kit in the same scheme from my (earlier) 1:48 Scale days. Did you extend the landing gear struts a bit or are those the originals!?
Cheers,
Lance

Wonderful model with a super finish. Green seems to have an attraction of its own.

Beautiful D-Va. Now that I know the aircraft a bit, I can see it features all details of a D-Va like the additionnal masts, and external aileron cables. I love the rust effect on the exhaust and the aspect of wood inside the cockpit. Have you noticed that one of the wires is broken on the port side?

Another interesting detail is the spanwise application of lozenges on the lower wing. This should normally be the rule since the chord was smaller than the basic lozenge pattern. In the facts, time pix also show D-V's with chordwise applicated lozenges.

Hi guy's  :)

I really glad you guy's like the build . Surprisely I'm not a huge Albatros D.V fan , but one should have at least one or two just for the colourful colour scheme this type carried . Green does have a certain attraction to it . You guy's are great , many thanks for all the kind comments !

Lance , I didn't use the kit landing struts at all . replacements are from Pheon Model's resin land gear and wheels .

Vincentm , I didn't notice the broken bracing wire . Will have to fix this .

Hello Terri:

Great Albie:  Something about the green and white that really stands out.  Like you, not a huge fan of the Albatros, but due to the many colorful schemes, gotta have a few in the collections, yours is truly outstanding.

Best

Mark
