Were planes like the Fokker D.VII covered entirely in lozenge fabric, then painted, or was plain fabric used under the painted areas?
I'm asking cause of a Fokker I'm building. It has interior lozenze decals with the kit, but the entire fuselage of the ac I'm building is painted. I don't know if I should use the lozenge decals or just paint the interior areas.

That can depend, early DVII's from Fokker had plain fuselage coverings doped over. Later were all covered in 4 or 5 colour loz so it depends which you are building. I'd say unless an early Fokker built with the exhaust through the panel and not above you would best go for a lozenge interior.
Just my Opinion. I'm sure someone would advise you better.

Thanks, I was hoping that was the answer, the lozenge looks a lot better, I think.
The one I'm building is a late model OAW.

i believe most if not all late oaw d.vii had 4 color lozenge fuselage, most of which were painted over in the field, so i would do the interior lozenge, the best of which is made by aviattic.
