Title: Nieuport 17 RFC Armament Question
Post by: oldtrousers on June 09, 2014, 10:53:36 AM
Hi guys,
I have an old Academy Nieuport 17 in my stash that I picked up off of Ebay a few years ago.  I wanted to depict it as a RFC machine, but this particular kit does not come with the Lewis gun and I was wondering if any RFC Nieuport 17s were armed only with a Vickers machine gun. The plan is to depict the plane crashed with a Model Cellar figure standing in front of it sometime during "Bloody April'.
Thanks for any help!

Sounds like a great plan you have for the Nieuport kit. As far as the Lewis gun goes, GasPatch models have a 1:32 scale Lewis gun kit, it is very good and might suit your needs.

Des.

you might want to try lone star models http://www.lonestarmodels.com/, Mike has some resin for the Nieuport 17 including Vickers & Lewis guns & magazines

Thank you Des anf Firechief for the responses. I'll have a look at both of the suggestions.
