Hi
This is my recently finished Albatros D.II. I did not use any addons, made it straight out of box. It is the first model on which I tried to make wood texture. It was not as dificult as I suspected. Decals of this kit were very tough, even paint thinner was hardly able to soften them (Microscale SOL and SOL were useless).

All looks perfect wood texture and fabric painting.

I am very glad to meet my countryman, building WW1 aircraft in my favourite 72nd scale, and to such quality! A very nice pure wood-linen-bare metal model. Congratulations, Piotr. I am looking forward to see more of your models soon.

That is a STUNNING Model! Beautifully painted and rigged!!

Absolutely fantastic finish Piotr, really like the wood effect, well done!

Gorgeous model Piotr! It looks much larger than 1/72. ;) Outstanding craftsmanship.
Cheers,

Truly magnificent work, Piotr! Your wood grain and fabric weathering, shading and translucency are top notch. As others have said, she looks much larger than 1/72 scale. I did Oeffag 53.05, Anny, a little while back in 1/48 scale. Yours looks like it could be parked next to mine in a diorama.
Cheers,
Bud

Outstanding work and in God's Own Scale makes this even more remarkable. This could easily have been 1/48 scale. Your wood and bare metal finishes are most realistic. Many congratulations.

welcome to the forum Piotr!
I must say that I like your model, I like it very much!
Congratulations
Best regards,
Sasho

Piotr,
Well done! I think the wood turned out just great. VERY realistic!
What paint did you use for the fabric? I am trying to find a good color for my Albatros D.I and it looks like you nailed it.
Welcome and post more... ;) ;)

Thank You for kind words, I`m hapy that You like my model.

It is ModelMaster acrylic paint, but to be honest I didn`t write down number of this paint and unfortunatley I don`t have it anymore. As far as I remember, this paint name was "light sand" or something like that and it was originally dedicated for II World War german tanks "ambush" camouflage.

One more 1/72 Albatros from Europe! And this one is just great. The wood effect on the fuselage and prop, as well as the weathering, are just beautiful.
-
Beautiful Albatros, Piotr. The woodwork is great and the
rigging is spot-on.
Cheers,
Ernie :)
