I have now completed this model and I must say that is was a very joyous build. The build was rather difficult due to the lack of plans or drawings and not having any dimensions, but I had plenty of photos which helped me tremendously. It is a rather unusual aircraft in appearance but apparently it flew quite well but was sadly underpowered. I tried to replicate this aeroplane to be as close as possible to the original design so hopefully I have come close. Many thanks to Steven Robson for his brilliant spoked wheels and to The Micro Group for their superb laminated wood propeller.

Magnificent!
Best wishes

Well ... seriously? What can one say?
Simply marvellous, the aircraft looks about as Heath Robinson as one could get, and definitely in the "Magnificent Men" category.
But what a piece of modelling!! FANTASTIC - I've already used up pretty much any superlative I know and I'm only left with the option of profanity. And due to the gentle and fragrant nature of the board will simply describe this build therefore as ............ "Really quite well done".
Well done!

Hello Des,
What you have accomplished in two months time is unbelievable. I think I used all the words of my (limited) English vocabulary during the build. So what is left to say for me? : Destonishing ? Destrordinary ? FormiDessing ? Many congratulations Des, you are on the top!
Kind regards
Patrick

This is absolutely stunning Des, I'm totally speechless!
You have outdone yourself with the Battaille. No idea what your next project is going to be, but can't wait to see it started.
Best regards,
Sasho
PS: Your scratchbuilds are very inspiring, and while I know that achieving even remotely close results is just in my dreams, those build inspire to at least try scratching a whole airoplane! Pleas ekeep up the good work
-
A truly stunning build Des – and such a beautiful aeroplane too! :)
Congratulations!
Mikael

A design that would have most of us running for the hills - beautifully and fearlessly executed!!

Every time I think you've hit the peak of modelling excellence you redefine the "top"! Simply spectacular, what else can one say?!
Cheers,
Lance
-
Des,
I'm always in awe of anybody who can build these models totally from scratch. Brilliant workmanship on a very strange looking aeroplane, mate.
Regards
Dave

I cannot add anything new to what has been written already - only that I am in total agreement with everybody +10.
The aircraft really does look as though it was from an earlier age - quite amazing to think that it could and did fly.
-
An absolute beauty Des, yet again.
You keep raising the bar, truly astounding levels of skill and dedication, especially so since it's entirely scratchbuilt!
Inspiring stuff indeed. You really should consider publishing some of your build logs.
-
I can't add anything new to what's already been said. Even those of us whose native tongue is English have used up all our superlatives!
Very many congratulations!
Ian

Des I guess there are no words in the English vocabulary that can truly describe my admiration of your work. The topic you have chosen this time is unique. Your interpretation of the subject is absolutely magnificent! I can`t stop watching pics you`ve kindly provided us with. One can only turn green with envy of your talent. It is really a privilege to be able to present my models somewhere near your works...
I can`t wait till your next build!!!

Absolute top class scratch modelling!!! Destacular... Again...
-
Des,
It's a very peculiar plane, but a fabulous model. It was a joy to follow your updates and see the model growing and becoming a superb reproduction. Hopefully there are more models to follow this one.
regards,
Ivo

Wow!
What an amazing model Des. She's beautiful; loved your build log on this aircraft.
Viva your modelling skills.
-
That belongs in a museum.
-
Amazing model. Not only a rather weird machine I had never heard of, but a great build. Parts are perfectly clean for a scratch build, and the rigging is really impressive.
-
Hello Des:
All I can add is an enthusiastic WOW! A masterpiece.
Best
Mark

Jesus, fella!
Where did you find that machine?
Your work here is spectacular, tremendous, truly wonderful!
But what on God's earth is it?

Quite a story, Sir!
A treat to watch everybody pull together like that.
A real pioneer design, and actually pretty advanced, I was surprised to see it dated quite so early.
Wonderful work by our Des, for sure!

Brilliantly done Des ! I'm lost for words ..
