Title: Introducing some of my 1:32 builds
Post by: OEFFAG 153 on April 22, 2014, 07:32:08 PM
Hi all!

– As a new member on this forum I thought I'd show some of my completed builds. Old friend from other forums will recognize them I guess, but for some of you they might be new and fresh.

I only build in 1:32 scale, and have done so for the past 15 years, so I've lived through the revolution of this scale – first with Roden and later with WNW. These days it's mostly builds from the latter – but Roden builds are still the most numerous on my shelves. WNWs are catching up fast though  ;)

Anyways here goes:

Rodens DH.2 with some mods done.

WNWs Hansa Brandenburgh – the jetty was scratch built

Rodens Tripe

WNWs Pup – again a scratch built base – the figure comes from WingsCockpit

WNWs Fee (Probably my own personal favourite)

And finally WNWs Fokker EII

There we are Hope yo like what you see. I'll post newer builds as and when they appear. At the moment the WNW DH.9 and 9a are approaching final construction and rigging.

All the best!

Mikael

Wonderfull models and figures, the vignetes are full of live!
I have a question thou, lately I'm trying to learn to paint figures and a recent issue I came to was painting the goggles. Can you please explain in short how do you paint goggles?
Thank you in advance,
Sasho

Brilliant job - and you couldn't say these weren't damn good.

Having said that - I'm struggling through the Pup build and you've stolen my thunder somewhat?  I was most definitely going to attempt that launch platform display - even bought the exact same figure for it - Oh well, I'll just have to strive achieve somewhere near the same results - which is gonna' be tough methinks!!

You'll just have to build the whole ship. That'll show 'em :)

Absolutely super models and wonderful bases, especially the Pup but also the Hansa Brandenburg. Modelling of the very highest standard.

Mikeal,

What a great introduction!

All your models looks superb (I think I have seen a couple elsewhere) and set off well with the bases.

Regards

Dave

Beautiful artistry in modeling, Mikael! ;D  The bases and figures are extremely well done also.  Do you paint the figures yourself?  Thanks for sharing these inspiring beauties!

Cheers,

Bob

Same here, Mikael!  Your models are among my favorites.  The only one I hadn't seen before is "Maud".  She's gorgeous.  I'm building this particular ship myself, only with the WNW kit.  I can only hope mine turns out half as fine.  Thanks for posting these, my friend.
Cheers,
Bud

Thank You all for that very warm reception – a pleasure showing builds here for sure!  :)

@ Sasho – I paint goggles by first adding a dark brown/black colour in eye pieces. Then I paint the 'frames'. Finally adding a gloss clear coat as the 'glasses' (Usually using Humbrol). Pretty straightforward really.

@ Andi – Sorry  ;) – I'm sure everyone wants to see another Pup (And why not – build the turret  ;D)

@ Bob – Yep I paint the figures myself. Before I launched into my plane building spree, I was mainly painting figures – mostly 120mm WWI.

@Bud – I look forward to your Maud. It is a favourite marking of mine – I did have some problems with silvering though. I think my surface wasn't gloss enough...
