Title: British bomb colours
Post by: jknaus on April 09, 2014, 07:47:49 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but what colour would you paint British bombs. I am doing Barkers Snipe and am toying with putting bombs on it (I believe that the last few months of the war the allies were carrying them for targets of opportunity).
In the WNW instructions they call for Mustard Yellow XF4. This just doesn't seem right to my eyes. Could someone in the know set me straight and maybe suggest a Tamiya or Vallejo colour I should use? Thanks in advance for any help.
James

German Afrika Yellow or the yellow zinc chromate might be a good match.

There are some useful photos here:

To my eye its more like Afrika Korps yellow
