Title: Hello, I'm back!
Post by: Epeeman on March 05, 2014, 02:52:49 AM
Hello, all -

Been away from these forums for a few months, but hope to make it back (gradually) here again - I've missed it.

The house move went well, but things have not gone very well since then.  So far 2014 has not been a good year for me and my family.  First, my mother was in hospital with a (routine) knee replacement surgery which has involved both me and my sister looking after (she is a widow) her;  then my wife had her car wrote off by an uninsured driver one evening after work who left the scene of the accident - leaving my wife in pain in the car having to be pulled out by ambulance and fire brigade.  she was then in hospital until being finally discharged 5am in the morning.   All this made worse as I had left my last job and had no car (company car went when I resigned) whilst in between jobs.   My wife (Jacquie) is only now starting to get her confidence back in driving.    Only now getting her a replacement car since accident in January.

To finally top it all, I lost my new job which has left me devastated - I have been finding it difficult being out of work when I have had 32 years of solid work history behind me ..............

Currently looking for work but the good news is that my CV is being widely circulated and have an interview for another job end of next week - I'm confident more will follow including getting a possible job back with my previous employer albeit not my last role.

So, model making went by the wayside but I'm going to get 'stuck back in' and join in on this forum - I've really missed not being here and joining in on all the discussions.

Best regards to all

Dave

So glad to see you back, Dave.  Awfully sorry to read of your misfortunes, mate, but I'm certain good things are in store for you, perhaps even a better job than the one you lost.  I'm glad to see that your wife is doing well and wasn't more seriously injured.  I'm looking forward to seeing your participation again.
Cheers,
Bud

Just turned my computer on and saw your post, I was so pleased to see that you are back. I was sorry to hear of your woes this year but the main thing is that everyone is okay and all on the mend back to full health. I'm sure that your job hunting will come to fruition very soon and the remainder of this year, and many years to come, will be full of happiness for you and your family.

Des.

I'm glad to see you back Dave. Take comfort in knowing that you're not alone, and you don't have to do it all by yourself. Even though we're electronic friends, we're no less real.

Upward,

Lindsay

I too wish you all the very best for the future, especially in finding a new job. Having been unemployed once I would not wish the experience on anyone. Glad too that your wife is getting better - a shock such as she experienced will take some getting over. Great that you have picked up modelling again - it happens that I too resumed this hobby (after a break of decades) after a similar period of very bad experiences which left me wondering what would happen next. Answer - nothing as bad as before!! And the modelling takes my mind off everyday problems and allows me to "meet" some very supportive and talented individuals on this excellent site.

Welcome back.

Wow 2014 has not started well for you at all - you have my utmost sympathy.  All the best to your wife & mother recovering from their various ordeals/procedures.  We are told the job market is getting easier so here's hoping you get sorted soon.
