Hello!
Completing this model was my dream that came true - cause I`ve always wanted to have a Lloyd C. V on my shelf.
The kit I bought was almost finished - so I had to break it a little bit to make it my way. I`ve added some detail to the cockpit.
I have carved the laminated prop cause the one from the kit had the bad shape (I would do that anyway ;) ). I`ve replaced the Parabellum gun with Schwarzlose I had from the other kit (added some details and changed the barrel). The anemometer is scratchbuilt. I have also replaced the Austro Daimler engine (the original one sits in my Hansa Brandenburg D.I model) adding some detail.
The woodgrain is painted with oil paints using the technique you all know.

My model depicts a machine number 46.01 flown by Oberleutnant Roman Schmidt of Flik 13 on October 4 1917 he scored his third victory downing a Russian Sopwith flying this very plane.
Thanks for looking!
Some b&w photos first:

Absolutely stunning, Filip! Of all the truly beautiful and unusual Austro-Hungarian types, this one may be my favorite. I love the wood wings offset by the fabric control surfaces and you did a fantastic job on both.

Thank you Bud! Now I dream of getting my hands on Lloyd FJ. 40.05 in 1/48 but I think no one who has it would be glad to part with one. I will try though...

I know, Filip! I've been trying to get one of those for years. That, and the Priesel. They're rarer than hen's teeth.

That is an amazing piece of wood effect - I just wish that I could paint like that. The model is simply superb - the b & w photos look real. It is not a machine with which I am familiar but you have made it into a mini-masterpiece.
Stephen.
