Title: Gnome Monosoupape 9 Type B-2 100 hp
Post by: Jamo on January 19, 2014, 07:57:14 AM
This Gnome Monosoupape engine is fitted to an original, resorted Avro 504K operated by The Vintage Aviator Ltd from Hood Aerodrome. The Gnome Monosoupape 9 Type B-2 was fitted to wide range of aircraft including Avro 504, Airco DH.2, Airco DH.5, Bristol Scout, Nieuport 12, Nieuport 28, Royal Aircraft Factory F.E.8 and Sopwith Pup (among other more obscure types).

Note that this engine is the one originally fitted to this aircraft, which was exported to New Zealand after WWI. The 504 was lovingly restored by Stuart Tantrum over a 25 year period and was later acquired by TVAL.
