Here is a Model Cellar bust of Raoul Lufbery that I did last year, figure I would add it to the figure section. The basic sculpt by Mike Good is similar to the figures that came in the DML Dragon Knights of the Sky kits back in the 1990's. The only difference is that this one has the whole right arm and hand, holding his customary cigarette. I have found the photo that I believe this kit was designed from, but I noticed two problems with the kit. The hat in the kit is the French Kepi, red and black with hard edges and gold braid on the top and edges. The kepi in the photo is a soft edged kepi and is in horizon blue, the same as the uniform. The other problem was his mustache as molded was too big and bushy, so I trimmed most of it off to match the photo. I also sanded down the edges of the Kepi and added creases to resemble the photo more closely.
That's all for now,
Dave

Here are a couple of more photos, including the actual photo that was used in creating the pose, unfortunately I have never seen a photo of Lufbery with the hard edged "officers" style kepi that comes with the kit.

Thanks guys, I have a few more of these busts to do, including Frank Luke and Francisco Baracca, along with the original Udet, Richthofen and Rickenbacker busts that i did about 15 years ago but they need a good repainting.
