Simply superb modelling, especially the wood fuselage which is most convincing. This is modelling of the highest standard.

This is a classic example of what can be achieved in 1:72 scale, an absolutely stunning model in all aspects. The wood on the fuselage is extremely well done as is the rigging, and the Polish markings are very striking, very well done Hadzi.

Des.

Modeling of the highest quality on display! What is the back story on the unusual marking?

Modeling of the highest quality on display! What is the back story on the unusual marking?

Polish Air Force was formed in November 1918 and used to 1.XII.1918 different identification marks in Warsaw, Lwow and Krakow.
In Krakow, it was a red letter Z on white field, in Lwow white-red stripes, in Warsaw shields and wheel divided obliquely to the color white and red.
Two years ago, we found a photo that inspired my to bouild this model. It was a next variant of the Warsaw markings white-red roundels similar to the markings of Denmark.
In spring 1919 the aircraft have still a mixed of Warsaw and German markings.
Some examples drawn by my friend Wojtek Sankowski
Warszawa markings:

Lwow:

on the fuselage new markings comformable to the order from 1.XII.1918 on ruder and wings the old Lwow version.

very nice albatros, i love the polish markings. in a magazine i got 2 years ago it had an explanation of the polish markings and how they evolved. and how krakow had its own markings. i like the hansa b.i above in krakow markings very striking

First I admired your pictures and only after reading a number of posts beneath I realised that this was 1:72 and not 1:32! Very well done!
I like the polish markings too and even more the explanation about them a few posts later.

regards,
Ivo
