Hi All,
Just wondering if anybody out there may have some internal details of either the Mercedes D.III or the Siemens Halske D.III engines. I'm looking to make a 1/6th working scale model of either one, but have a real preference for the Siemens. I know it had a planetary gear system to give contra-rotation between the cylinders and the prop, but I just can't figure out exactly how they did it. The curator at the Power House museum was not very keen to let me pull their one apart, I can't understand why ::)
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
