Grand job on the Pfalz, Martin. I like that colour scheme. Very well done.
Bob Von Pfalzmeister, yours is an absolute stunner. Add your newest
chick and you will have the beginnings of a nice pflock of Phalz's.
Merry Christmas to you both!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Pfabulous Pfalz, von Pfalzmiester! Hope you post a "group shot" when the DIIIa is completed.

Okay, here is my WNW Pfalz DIII.a. in Karl Degelows markings using the Pheon Sheet. A great straight forward build. I detailed some of the engine and cut away some of the cowling to show it.

DR. Dave: You B&W photo had me there for a bit. Great job on the Pfalz. I like the metal affect on the cowlings.
Radio, I like your Scheme. I am doing that one as I type. I just finished reading about Berthold, quite a guy, such a sad end. What kit is that?
Best

Great idea, as the Pfalz D-III/DIIIa is definitely my favorite WWI bird for it's gorgeous color schemes. Wonderful models too (über alles, wunderschön modell, Umlaufmotor). I'm currently finishing 3 1/72 WWII Fw190's, and after that, eager to start my own DIIIa which will be Hans-Georg von der Marwitz's beautiful plane.

Fantastic Pfalz !
Congratulations.
Jacek

What a wonderful collection of D.III's! Beautiful work, everyone. :D
Here's another Pfalz with a favourite paint scheme of mine. The decals are from
WnW's Pfalz D.IIIa Flying Circus Part 2 set and the Lozenge is from Wood & Wire.
Great looking little aeroplane, the Pfalz. :D

Here's my rendition of Berthold's D.IIIa in 1/72, made from Roden's plastic with some scratchbuilding in the cockpit and around.
This one should be known from the now dead GWitA forum...

A new bunch of gorgeous Pfalzes!
I'm working at adding mine soon. I thought building three would calm down my appetite for this bird, but I'm also sure I will come back to it one day, there are so many brilliant schemes.

I'll add my old 1/48 attempt at Holtzem's DIIIa to the party.

And now my go. Here are two Pfalzes, a D-III (Rudolf Stark, 4064/17, Jasta 34b, lilac fuselage band and spinner) and a D-IIIa (Hans-Georg von der Marwitz, Jasta 30, orange diamonds), under repair in a remote maintenance unit. 1/72 MAC Distribution kits, Roden props and engines, Eduard seatbelts and Spandaus, Brengun PE tools, Orion figure, home-printed decals and lots of small bits and pieces made of plastic, wood, copper, rolling papers, aluminum etc.

Really excellent implemented.
Very well built, the diorama gives the impression that it lives.
.................. love the poster on the wooden hangar wall 8)
-
Thank you all. In my opinion, this kind of little scene is exactly what 1/72 is for. The models are not as big and finely detailed as WNW's but you can add a lot of life around.
About the Mata-Hari poster: months before I started this dio, I found this pic of her in a History magazine and I just loved it, I understood at once why she was so popular at this time. I thought I could use it maybe in a diorama by printing a scale bill. Then I had the idea of the dio when I found there was an optional D-III fuselage in the MAC D-IIIa box...The 2 ideas eventually gathered.

I like it, but the best thing are the wheels!
Cheers,

Although the wheels seem expensive I consider them priced more then fairly given their quality and the amount of effort they must surely take to produce. I have a few more sets "ferreted away" for future projects and I treasure the little beauties!

Ah, there she is ;)

Your words are mine, Manni! Love that version. Love too many of the versions, offered with that decal-sheet. Need three more Pfalz D.IIIa kits, it seems...

Frank, Von B, and Lance,
All of the DIIIa models are gorgeous and show each individuals talents well! Frank, the Triplane is excellent and thanks for sharing!

Pfalz DIII - Jasta 10, Courtrai 1917
Another old 1/48 model from my wwi list days
My subject is the fascinating 1370/17 which was flown by Vzfw Hecht and then captured by the RFC. I always fancied a tryptych with the all-silver factory fresh 1370; then this one; then the bruised and used 1370 in RFC roundels with its G110 numbers added. Maybe, if I'm spared!

A bump for the Pfalz thread. A few shots of my new D.IIIa scratchbuild in 1/144, using Aviattic's beautiful 5-colour lozenge sheet. Markings are for Otto Kissenberth's "Edelweiss" from Jasta 23b.
