I am returning plastic modeler currently living in the 'sandstorm country' of Texas! I am a retired teacher working at a private school. I normally teach history but have a new aviation class!! We use simulators that handle Condor. This Spring we will have a simulator to handle Rise of Flight!!! Can't wait!!
My interest is in late 40s-early 50s American military aircraft in 1/48, Golden Age planes in 1/48, and of course WWI in 1/48 (and 1/32 thanks to WNW!! ) :D
I am in reality a modeler starting again after an absence of 40 years. And would like to post pix of some of my projects.
Does anyone do figure painting?---this seems absolutely fascinating----

Welcome aboard Andy!
I'm sure there are plenty here who do figure painting, and a lot else besides, who will be more than happy to answer any questions. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Hi Andy,
Welcome aboard from a fellow Rise of Flight fan!

Welcome Andy! Glad to have you here. I'm up in the frozen Canadian prairies, but I understand you guys have been getting quite a taste of ice and snow lately. It might actually be refreshing for a change!

Welcome to the forum, Andy. I'm sure you will be impressed with the friendliness
and knowledge of the members here. We have modellers that excel at painting
figures so you should have plenty of help in that regard. It would be great to see
some of your work. Glad to have you aboard!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Welcome to the forum, Andy! I'm a 1/48 scale builder, myself, and look forward to seeing your projects come to life here.
Cheers,
Bud

Welcome to a great forum Andy. Like you, I was a history teacher. When you mention figure painting do you have a preferred scale? In terms of model building, it's 1/48 for me until I get stuck into that growing collecting of Wingnutwings stuff.
Best wishes
Nigel

Welcome back to the fold! After a 40 year absence you will see a gigantic change in quality and breadth of subject matter from when you left. I'd sure hate to have your CC bill once you get on a roll! ;D I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Andy, welcome to the squad.

Nigel,
I don't have a favorite scale for figures as I've never done one------
I do have 15 1/48 scale planes so some figures would go nicely!
The 1/32 figures that are being produced now are really wonderful----
