Great to be here, looking forward to getting to know people and expanding my knowledge on some WW1 aircraft.
Got a bit of a thing for Sopwith products, work nearly exclusively in 1/48 although I have bought a WNW RNAS Pup which I'm hoping to get built next year.
That's it for now, cheers Doug.

Hello Doug and welcome to a very friendly and supportive forum.
Given what you say about all things Sopwith and 1/48 scale, I wonder what you make of the Eduard F.1 Camel, in particular the ailerons (I've got the Wonga Bonga underway, if stalled at the moment).
Best wishes
Nigel

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Have to admit I don't have any built WW1 kits yet, plenty in the stash though.
The nearest I have so far are some interwar builds, which will hopefully hold me in good stead for my upcoming education! :)

Welcome aboard Doug. Those are beautiful builds. Are they Silverwing kits for the first 2? Im stumped on the Supermarine though - Marsh?

Hi Steve, thanks for the welcome.
The Flycatcher is the old Pyro 1/48 kit. Basic, but can be made into a peach with some love and attention. The Hawker Fury is the 1/48 Airfix kit, recently re-released. Again basic but can be worked on. Both had the benefit of some of Bobs lovely buckles to help with the rigging.
The Schneider Trophy racer looks like a Supermarine S5 but is actually a Gloster VI, the 'Golden Arrow'. It's a multimedia kit in 1/48 made by Wiener Modellbau. In 1929 Gloster made two aircraft, but sadly they never raced as they had a design fault which meant the engine would cut out in high G turns, not a good attribute for a circuit racer! Wonder what they ever did with them afterwards.

A warm welcome Doug! Nice to have you with us.
Kind regards
