Hello All
Last night I shared a glass of wine or two with a French friend who is almost exactly the same age as me. We know from past conversations that we shared the same music tastes at our respective universities and were very much into the blues/underground/progressive scene before it all began to take itself too seriously.
We laughed and talked about some of the more bizarre or unusual band names. He then asked me what name I could call my band if I had any musical ability whatsoever - which I haven't. About half an hour later I decided that if I was a rap artist it would be Rich T Hofen, but the one I would really want for a band is Mannock
Would it come as any surprise that I woke up this morning with a bit of a headache?
Best wishes
Nigel

Jefferson Airplane. The B-52's. The Fabulas Thunderbirds. That's all I can think of at the moment.

Led Zeppelin!

U2
Hawk(wind)

Hunters and Collectors

Ah, yes, Ian, Hawk(wind) and wouldn't their single Silver machine seem appropriate!
But, if you were to set up a band or perform with a name related to World war One aviation......? Bear in mind that I've already 'signed' up
the dreadful rap artist Rich T Hofen
and the stunning rock band Mannock
Best wishes from a Nigel sat at his computer for much of the day and dealing with work and messages from students as they come in.

How about Herman(n)'s (Goering) Hermits?
-
AEROSMITH !!!They even use the winged Airco de Havilland Logo!

Would Foo Fighters count?
Hurricane Smith
Joey Tempest (Europe)
Alan Lancaster (Status Quo)
Johnny Javelin & the Sea Vixens
(OK I may have made that last one up).

Ha!
Richard, you had me going there. I raced over to the CD collection, sure that I'd bought a Linda Halberstadt album in the 70s, and how could I have forgotten Camel?
I hear that Snoop Puppy Pup may put in an appearance, but mercifully your Jasta Bieber has cried off.
Graham, the young audience reacted very badly when it appeared that in the line-up for Johny Javelin and the Sea Vixens, Felix Stowe didn't turn up. It seems too that the Foo Fighters have reformed as the Comic Fighters.
There are persistent rumours of a new super-band, featuring Tommy Sopwith, Anthony Fokker, Geoffrey De Havillandand and Igo Etrich, though it is understood that their proposed travelling name SPAD has run into copyright difficulties.
Reports that young German rocker Max Immelmann will do a turn are, as yet, unconfirmed.
Time for a lie down, I think!
Best wishes
Nigel
