Very nice to be here ! I just started building models again, and I must confess when it come to WW1 aircraft I'm a total noob! I have just purchased a couple of kits to get started, a SE5a , and a Gotha bomber , both in 1/72 scale, by Roden. I usually hate this scale, but Im going to give them a shot to get warmed up. Anyone out there built the Gotha ? If so any tips, or ideas on after market stutff would be greatly appreciated!
I'm really happy to have found this site, I hope to meet some of you fine folks soon!

Welcome aboard, Nigel! I look forward to seeing that Gotha here.
Cheers,
Bud

I can tell already that this is a good bunch, my kind of people...whew, I thought I was the only one who was remotely interested in this.. Very nice indeed.

Nigel,
Welcome aboard my friend. I only know one Gotha build using the Roden kit and that was built by our Featured Modeler,Dan Smth. I suggest you PM Dan for any advise on the build. I'd direct you to link but I can't seem to remember at the moment. No doubt Dan will gladly be able to help you out there as well. Best of luck to you in your 1/72 scale projects, you're braver than I.
Highest Regards,

Your by line says it all, " what me worry" lol, ! It's going to be an interesting build and I promise I'll try not to swear too much in my description. Is it me , or do I ask for much when I look for locator pins? they really are kinda helpful, ahem, just wondering Roden, yeesh, and the " intructions" should, well, instruct.. Just sayin...
I'm gonna need some help on this one guys. It's a very interesting subject, and I really could use some thoughts on this. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts, or insights, it would be much appreciated
Cheers

Welcome Nigel!
I only work in 1:72 and there are a few others here who do also. Locator pins? What are those? ;)
I haven't built the Gotha, but feel free to ask any questions you may have: you'll find the answers here!

Welcome, Nigel. Great to see one more 72nd scaler!
Unfortunately, I have not built Roden's Gotha but if I were to do it, I would definitely look for Part PE set. As for SE5a I have recently built one - you may find my modest build log in Under Construction section. If you have any questions regarding these models or generally 72nd scale, I will be happy to help you. Email or PM is fine.
