Hello everyone,
Here's my model of Lt. Georges Guynemer's Nieuport 17 which he flew in 1916. He
was one of France's most prolific aces, amassing fifty-three victories at the time of his
death in Sept., 1917. He was flying a SPAD at that time and was brought down by an
a pilot from Jasta 3. He was only twenty-two.
My model includes, PE parts from the Tom's Model Works fret, instrument bezels from HGW,
the MasterCasters cowling and wheel resin set and Gaspatch's turnbuckles along with their
resin Vickers machine gun.
Hope you enjoy the photos...

By the way, the loose wire you see on the underside of the upper wing is an end I forgot
to snip off. That has now been rectified! :-[ ;)

For a model worlds away from the class of Wingnuts products, it was an inexpensive but
very enjoyable project and I would whole-heartedly recommend it to any modeller entering
the WWI era.
Anyone interested in seeing the build log will find it here...

Your Noop is a real beauty Ernie! Very well done. ;D Great scheme, well applied!
I'm looking forward to your Pfalz. I'm taking a similar path after the fiddly Roden Noop I just completed: relaxation with a WNW Fokker D.VII. ;)
Regards,
Bob

Ernie,
Excellent Nieuport! Can't wait to see what you do with the Pfalz.
-
Thanks, Rob. I'm hoping the Pfalz will be a little better.
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Well you certainly brought out the best in the old Academy kit and proved with a little work *and a few swear words* you can tease a beauty out of the grey sprues and dodgy decals.
You'll love the Pfalz. It's still one of WNW's best kits in my opinion.

Sorry but I have been away for a few days and am catching up. This was one well worth catching up on.... an excellent build of what I understand to be pretty basic kit. I especially admire the finish and the cockpit detailing - many congratulations.
-
Thank you, for your kind comments, LM. It is a good entry type kit and really
quite enjoyable to build.
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Hi Ernie:
Outstanding job on this kit!! It is not as easy as the contents of the box would indicate. You did an outstanding job Ernie, great finish, great weathering, interior work is top notch. Thanks for sharing your work. If and when I do another one, I will refer to your build log.
