Hello,
I'm going to spam you a little bit with my last completed WWI subject, this is an Eduard 1:48 Bristol Fighter - The Crocodile. I tried to achieve a slight "see thru" effect on the upper wing and nearly got it dialed. I just messed it somehow so if the ribs are visible you can't see the squares and if the squares are visible you can't see the ribs :-/. I have no idea how this happened!
For the wood grain I used oils over acrylics. All acryllics are Gunze or Tamiya, the turnbuckles are 0,5mm copper tubes, cut into 1,5mm pieces. For the wires I used 0,14mm thick fishing wire, coloured with silver marker.
For the decals I used Tamiya's and Agama's (black) solutions.
Any comments, advices and critque are welcomed.
best regards,
Sasho

Incredible scheme, Sasho! They way you've worked the see through effect is very convincing.

She's absolutely gorgeous, Sasho! The result you've achieved with the checker board see through effect is remarkable. I have the Brisfish kit and have been tempted by this one for quite some time. I think you just pushed me over the edge.
Cheers,
Bud

This is a great model. I mean GREAT! The scheme is truly terrific, and excellently executed. And I would give a lot for some close ups.
Let me only express one doubt - was not the checkerboard scheme on the upper wing applied to earlier PC10 finish? If so, than the see-through effect would not be present at all...

She is absolutely stunning Sasho, congratulations on creating such a superb model.

Hello guys,
thank you very much for the kind words, I'm glad you like it. This was suppose to be a little Out of the Box side project for the fun of it, and it was. The unexpected part was that she turned out way better looking than expected :). The kit is absolutley fun to build, without any major fit issues and just with the right amount of putty required to be pleasurable.

There are 2 pictures of the aircraft that I was able to find (on page 29 of Windsock Datafile Special. Bristol Fighter Vol.1 - I'm not sure that it is OK to post them here) where it is clearly visible that at the beginning there war checkers on the upper side of the upper wing and later on the under side too - this clearly indicates that the plane had a factory finish and the checkers were added later. So they were over PC10 and the see thru effect is not probable - I like to think that in very sunny day may be there was a slight hint for something like that. I took the liberty of the artistic license and tried to represent it - I really liked some build, on this and on another site, with see thru effects and actually this was supposed to be just a trial model :).
regarding the close ups - I may try to do some, but my camera is really really crappy, combined with my even worse photography skill makes them really bad. The posted pics were done from a friend, but getting him to photo the model again is .... may take time.
Best regards,
Sasho
