I`ve added some scratchbuilt parts... Sorry for the poor quality of the pics. Maybe you will be able to see something :-[

Filip, that is absolutely amazing work! The pulseometer is phenominal!
Your talent is showing with the Eindecker, my friend. I look forward to more
updates.
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
Veri nice start. The interior looks awesome with those details.
Cheers
-
Another masterpiece in the making Filip, what you have done so far is superb and your attention to detail is quite evident, looking forward to following this build.
Des.
-
Filip,
That is stunning work on your interior! I am looking forward to your further progress !!
RAGIII
-
Truly astonishing interior work, Filip! You've added quite a bit. I have the Profipack version of this kit and it doesn't have half the detail as yours. Brilliant.
Cheers,
Bud
-
Marvelous, Filip!
-
The cockpit looks excellent.
-
What a great cockpit. I wish I had that sort of patience.
-
Hi Filip
With this as a taster I can't wait to see how things turn out. Well done!
I'm just starting my EV but am waiting, frustrated, for Eduard to replace a couple of parts and to receive some decals for the interior lozenge.
Best wishes
Nigel
-
Thanks Gentlemen you are trully too kind! I`ll try to take better pictures of the cockpit before I close it up. I guess the true trial lies ahead with the painting of the main wings. I will try to do it according to Dan San Abbott`s theory...
-
Some better quality shots...

Filip, I mistakenly called your beautiful cockpit an Eindecker...
Of course it's an E.V and it's still beautiful! :-[ ;D
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
Again Filip, bravo! It will be a shame to hide so much away once the fuselage halves are brought together. But doesn't that so often mark us out as a breed? You know what's in there and all of your forum friends do too, even if the casual observer doesn't.
Best wishes
Nigel

Very fine modelling. Great cockpit!

I`ve tried to simulate the effect of the varnished veneer using decals and very diluted paints. I`ve failed the veneer decals I used were too dark. Fortunately there are 2 wings in the kit so I`ve sprayed a white undercoat on the second one and later put a thin layers of the purple and blue. Later I painted the streaks using a brush and diluted acrylic paints and sealed it with Future. I`m rather satisfied with the effect. I post some pics from Aerodrome of varnish trials on veneer and the picture of the Fokker replica I used for reference. In my picture blue differs (due my lack of photo taking skills) from what it looks like in reality, actually its shade does match the picture of the varnish trials posted below.

The wing looks great! Very similar to the colors I ended up with, as well as the method you used!
RAGIII
-
The streaking on the wings is amazingly good, Filip, and from what I see you have
the colours pretty much right on. Well done!
Cheers,
Ernie :)
-
Hi xmald.
The streaking it's looking great and the colours seems to be quite on the spot imho.
Very nice indeed.
Cheers

Cheers for comments!
I keep pushing on ;)

Nice work Filip! It's all coming together very well. Progress on my own EV is stalled for a short while as I plough through student assignments but your work gives me great encouragement.
Best wishes

Nice work on the lozenge and tail stripes, Filip! You are progressing very well!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

She's coming together beautifully, Filip! The wing streaking is truly brilliant.
Cheers,
Bud

Lovely work on the streaking and stripes!
RAGIII

Yeah... and pushing alright.
The tail it's fantastic. Can hardly wait to see that wing in her place, that model it's going to be a beauty.
Cheers

Dittos to the above comments, await completion.

I`m really glad you like and thanks all of you for kind remarks! Nigel I know what you mean students` assignments aren`t as mesmerising as model building, I`ve got a nice pile of them to be checked too.
Spandaus are Karaya`s - I really like them! As you can see I`m reaching the point of the final countdown - fixing the wing.

Hi Filip,
nice progress on your Fokker. I really like the paint scheme, all those different colors. Looking forward to your next steps.
greetings ro

Filip,
Lovely work on the MGs and decaling. A striking scheme! Looking forward to the next update.

Filip,
Lovely work, your detail is outstanding, looks more like 1;32 then the challenging smaller 1:48 Scale. The last photo shows it all................... Looking forward to the "grande finale"!

Great decal application, Filip, and those Spandaus look fantastic.
Cheers,
Bud

Grand job on the Spandaus, Filip. The view from the rear into the
cockpot is gorgeous!
Cheers,

Thanks for dropping in gentlemen! I`ve put it all together. The engine is a beautiful Taurus`s model. I know that one can turn it into a true gem, but my abilities are insuficient to succeed... I`ll try to take better pics when I fix it to the fuselage. I strongly recommend Taurus`s products they are truly works of art! The figure is Eduard`s RFC pilot modified to look like a German Vizefeldwebel - I`m still working on it; I know it doesn`t look right now...

Hello Fillip:
This is really coming nicely. You did an outstanding job with the lozenge decals on the fuselage. I tend to shy away from all decaled fuselages but your work is inspiring. The upper wing is testimony of your skills and determination. This is a neat little model and I look forward to seeing you wrap it up.

Great stuff Phillip - not far to go now. Or is there?
Best wishes
Nigel

Very nice job Phillip.
Your decaling it's very good and the engine it's awesome... nothing wrong with your skills there. It's goingm to be a beauty along with that figure.
Cheers
-
Wonderful job, Fillip. You really have made a little masterpiece, my friend. I think
the engine is a work of art. Well done! I look forward to the final photos!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

This little gem is taking shape very nicely Filip, the lozenge looks excellent and the engine is very well done, this is turning into a great model, well done so far.

Thanks for all comments they really keep me motivated!
It`s the last update before the presentation in completed models section.
The prop is carved with Part prop boss - some more parts still to be fixed. I hope I didn`t exaggerated with the oil stains on her. Some more tiny bits and she`ll be finished!

I,m pleased to see that your model is almost ready, waiting for the gallery.

The carved prop is a beautiful touch Filip. As one who does his own as well I have to ask, did you do your own laminating with veneers or was the stock small scale plywood? ??? For 1:48 Scale your detail and finish is excellent!
Cheers,
Lance
-
She's absolutely gorgeous, Filip! The oil staining looks just right and that prop is brilliant. Did you have any problems fitting the Taurus engine in the cowling?
Cheers,
Bud
-
She's a real beauty Filip! ;D The cowling and wheels look great. What paint did you use, and how did you achieve the burnished, weathered look on those parts? Thanks.
Regards,
Bob

Lance I use veneer to carve props, but I have to find a thinner one in order to be able to use more layers. What paint did you use, and how did you achieve the burnished, weathered look on those parts?
Bob I`ve used Pactra A8 Yellow Gloss and artistic oils to weather it; raw umber and burnt sienna heavily diluted so it`s simply a wash. I used the same paints to imitate burnt castor oil staining. Lovely stuff Filip
I just hope mine turns out as well.
No worries I`m sure yours will be better!
-
What a beautiful model, Filip! I have a particular liking for the E.V, and you
have done her proud. The paint and propeller are absolutely superb work.
You are an artist, my friend! I will be enjoying your completed photos soon
as I can!
Cheers,
Ernie :)

Stunningly Beautiful! I always like Yellow markings with Lozenge, seems to be an excellent combination!

Hi Philippe,
Simply briljant work. Interior, painting en lovely engine. Bravo!
Kind regards

A stunning model from tip to tail Filip, beautifully finished, well done, and you did an excellent job on the propeller.
Des.

Cheers for the comments; you are spoiling me and I start to feel that you like my model ;)
The E.V will be in completed section for a day or two. In the meantime I scratchbuilt a refuelling equipment. I`ve found it really hard to find any pictures of aircraft refuelling, but I`v found a really nice model of the equipment from an Austrian company. Unfortunately a little bit pricey for my taste - 15 Euros, and since I`m not a fan of dioramas (due to my lack of skills) I decided to copy it. The harderst part were the wheels - I had to cut them from a sheet of plastic. The barrel was made from a pen. The hand pump is some plastic from spare box.
I tried to improve the appearance of my pilot. I repainted the face with oils. Figures are not my cup of tea I think, though if you look at it from a distance it`ll do ;)

RAGIII

Very nice scratch build job on the refuelling cart, I'm not sure of what they used back in those days but your cart certainly looks the part, well done.
Des.

Cart looks very nice, especially since you have done it yourself.
Adam.

the oil cart's great. Check out the photo posted under under 'dioramas' as well of a Roland C II being refuelled

Hi Philip,
Your refuelling equipment is simply suberb. It is lovely!
Kind regards

Lovely work on the fuel cart Filip. I may be "borrowing" this idea in future!
